My son was in a desperate state of mind when he went to Rivendell. The staff was courteous and respectful. My son received intensive counseling, medication adjustments, etc... When he came back home, he was calm, outgoing, cooperative, excited for his future, and a pleasure to be around. He was the exact opposite of what he was when he first went there. To this day, he has a great life, high expectations for the future and he is a pleasure to be with. I am grateful that when my son had a great need, Rivendell was there for him.

For a week straight, this place was nothing but pure hell. The bedding (sheets, blanket, and pillow case), were so thin that you had to ask for more bedding, which seemed to irritate the staff. The room temperatures all throughout the facility, were ice-cold and had most patients shriveling due to the harsh environment that we were exposed to. Not to mention that when anyone of us asked to alter the thermostat, we were ignored and told "i don't know" or "i cant". We were treated like utmost juveniles and were only exposed to partial sunlight throughout the majority of my experience there. A few staff members, not all, abused their power of authority and exercised their position wrongly on all patients, especially the children. Anytime that anyone expressed how they truly felt, were sent to "the quiet room". The room consisted of hard stone floors and walls and was entirely too small. I can recall numerous accounts of my peers being mistreated and discriminated against as well. I felt like I faced utmost discrimination whenever the staff took away my Bible, which was listed under the "Allowed Items" list. My Bible was barely a hardcover book and had leather binding wrapped around it. The flyers that they handed out were very misleading. There were no "game boy" or "radio" and the level system that they had set up, did not seem to exist. Overall, Rivendell is not a place for mental healing or recovery; it's a place for pure punishment for things that are out of your control. Don't ever consider going here. This place is nothing but a sorry excuse for a mental hospital.

The staff were really sweet and kind to me. They were really attentive to me in my time of need. I met a lot of interesting people during my stay there that left a lasting impression on me. Honorable mentions are Rachel, Dawn, Lea, Corey, Kerrie, Keyshawn, really and truly the whole staff. They treated me with me with much kindness and respect. I am truly grateful for this experience. ?

One of the best decisions I ever made was going to Rivendell. I went inpatient first and it helped a lot. Everyone treated me with kindness and care. After about 7 days I started the outpatient program. I looked forward to going every day. I learned so much about myself. Marla is the therapist and she is wonderful. Rachel is the RN. She is also a kind and caring person and Dr. Street the psychiatrist I can't say enough about him. He truly cares about his patients. I wish I could still go but it's time for me to go out in this world and use the tools I have learned in rehab. If I ever feel like I need help again I won't hesitate to go back to Rivendell.

I was hospitalized at this location about a year ago. I can say that this is probably one of the best mental health institutions that I have ever been to. When I first arrived I did not want to have a roommate because of past incidents, they worked with me to get a single room, which made me feel so much more welcome. For the most part, everyone got along and it felt like a very safe environment.

Majority of the staff were so kind and helpful. Shout out to Nurse Mindy, and PCT Sue, and male the PCT who always worked with her. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for.

I drove a couple hours to be at the institution, and I recommend it to anyone that is having a mental health crisis.

The outpatient program is phenomenal and I learned so much in such a short amount of time! The therapy in a group setting was new to me and I was nervous but everyone was so welcoming! Dr. Streett really cares about his patients and takes time to listen and hear you out! Rachel is an amazing nurse that is so loving and caring, a true asset to this program! Marla is a great therapist and her facilitation of the group was great! The skills I learned and the binder full of materials to review when needed is priceless!

The adult inpatient program is short-term and promises daily visits with a therapist which I never had, groups, which were sporadic at best, placement somewhere so you wouldn't just be left homeless at the end of treatment (which I saw happen) ...some staff were very kind and compassionate. I have never seen meds take so long to be given out in my life! I wondered if they were actually being manufactured before being dispensed. It was clean. Everyone was covered with little cotton balls from the sheets (no kidding) and the pillows were sheets crammed into pillow cases, weird. The food was all pre-made but OK I guess. They have an ice cream machine which was nice. I just don't know what to say about Dr. Street. He's a maverick for sure.

Went here a few times as a kid it was a nightmare and I'll explain why. 1.when i was a kid i had a mental breakdown in my room and two staff members a chunky black female and skinny white dude only made it worse by threatening to hold me down while i get a shot in my butt they didn't bother to comfort or help me shots are thier only solution for mental breakdowns. 2.the food oh my god the food was terrible it tasted horrible as a kid. 3.the showers where terrible they'd give you fast food ketchup cups of shampoo and that's it and you had to constantly hit a button to keep the water running. 4. The beds where so uncomfortable it felt like you was sleeping on a brick not to mention every 45 minutes to a hour a staff member will shine a flashlight in your eyes in the middle of the night. 5. The education was horrible thier so called teachers don't teach at all. All they'll do is hand you a packet and make you figure it out. 6.the so called therapists barely do anything all they ask you is if you've had any thoughts of harming yourself or others and then send you on your way. From my few times being there as a kid the only good experiences I've had were one middle aged man he was so polite to me and made sure i was ok i wish i could remember his name. Gym time was great. And that's it. Idk how much yall have improved over the years but all i know is my experiences have stayed with me all these years I'm 22 as of this review. Don't send your child here unless you want them to remember the way i did
