THIS IS A PREDATORY HEALTH CARE FACILITY!! Do not come here for any care!! My psychiatrist is great, but the billing team here is horrendous. My insurance has a $0 copay, but LifeStance has charged me $15 repeatedly every time I have a visit. I called in many times already, but their billing team is never reachable, and their front desk staff keep kicking me around on the phone. Every single time I have to call my credit card company to reverse the charge (thank you Amex). I already have anxiety and depression, and this predatory billing team only makes it worse. I’m sure after this comment, someone will reply to me with a generic response and asks me to contact them.🤮 Once again, DO NOT COME HERE!!

Extremely frustrating experience attempting to receive care here. No continuity of care. I've had two therapists leave the company while I've been a patient. I made an appointment weeks in advance only to find out the hour I log in that the appointment was invalid and my therapist was leaving and could not see me. If they would have even reached out to me an hour before to cancel the visit that would have made a difference but again. Clearly a mess of a system that is bad for therapists as well as patients. Will not be continuing here.

I started as LifeStance patient about 2 years ago. My first practitioner was an NP. She was very nice, but she just couldn’t get the medications right. I requested to be switched to my current psychiatrist after consulting my GP. She felt I needed an MD and boy did I ever…My current doctor is incredibly talented. Fixed my meds in one visit. Listens to and REMEMBERS the details that matter. I truly believe she saved my life.

I very highly do not recommend this company.

When I started as a patient, things went well for the first couple of months. However, as my treatment went on, I felt more like a dollar sign than someone they were trying to help get better.

Their cancelation policy is very difficult to work around and in the event you have an emergency and cannot make an appt, they will charge you ~$100-$175. There is no flexibility or contingency for emergencies, you have to cancel 48 business hours before or you receive a penalty. If you are late to an appointment, even with prior notice given, you can still be charged. In my case I had a job interview go long, I quickly messaged my therapist and let them know, but rather than being 10mins late (like I expected) I was 13mins late and messaged my therapist saying I was there. When they joined they told me I couldn’t continue with therapy that day and I received a $175 no show fee. It wasn’t written anywhere previously that there was any limit to being late to an appointment and I assumed 45mins was still alright. I did suggest in a message to the reception that they put their 15min late policy in writing with their other rules.

Something at work one week caused me to reschedule for a morning appointment and I slept in and missed the appointment. All entirely my fault, however, after receiving another $175 no show fee, this began to trigger my anxiety and therapy was no longer something to help with my anxiety, it was making it worse. I began canceling appointments 48hrs in advance out of fear that something would happen at work and I would get charged.

Finally, I canceled my repeating series with my therapist and a couple days later I received a message from them. I didn’t login quick enough to see the message and they either removed themself or the company removed them from my care team so that I could no longer see any messages from them. No one else ever followed up or reached out. It seems reckless to me to not reach out to a patient who just randomly canceled all their appointments and has a history of depression and anxiety. It certainly showed that they do not care about their patients well being and just whether or not you are paying your bills.

Aside from that, working with the psychiatrist on medication management did not go well. They encouraged me to stay on medications I was struggling to deal with the side effects of, they suggested at one point I go back to a medication that I previously failed and was not interested in. Every appointment was “answer these same scales and try this medication”. Which I understand is certainly a part of the process, but there was no connection at all, I just felt like a number and often didn’t feel like it mattered to this person whether I failed the next drug or not. My therapist often did not like their approach and would suggest I say something to the psychiatrist, which I often did, or tried to, but didn’t always have the courage to or would be convinced otherwise. I feel like as my team of providers within the same company, that there should have been some form of communication between the two of them about my care.

For working with people who have anxiety and depression, this company is unforgiving and not compassionate.

beyond the actual psychiatrist here (the service they provided was great) but the customer facing element in billing/reception was completely unprofessional and rude. the associate i spoke with regarding my bill had me on speaker phone (didn’t tell me that just heard my own voice echoing back to me) and was unbending regarding their “no-show” policy. i understand that the doctors time is valuable but how am i supposed to know to show up to an appt i never got a confirmation email about? absolutely unreal. it’s such a shame because the doctors are so talented but i will be taking my business elsewhere

Absolutely the worst most incompetent place I have ever had to do business with. I had to call 3 times because they wouldn’t update my insurance! They billed me for three sessions when my sessions are 100% covered by my insurance. I called all of February and was assured numerous times the billing department would correct it. March 1st is tomorrow. TWO MONTHS OF PHONE CALLS BACK AND FORTH WITH THESE PEOPLE. literally the worst experience I have ever had and they still have not corrected my account and removed the charges for the 3 sessions. This is ridiculous that it had to get to this point. I’m so tired of dealing with these incompetent people. I love my therapist but if it comes down to me having to switch to a new practice I will. Screw this place. Causing me more stress and grief and this isn’t the reason I use their services in the first place. Ridiculous!
