Windsor house has been wonderful for my mother, so don't judge a book by its cover. It is true that Windsor house need a makeover, and they are working on it. However, the staff has been great. They have a new DON and administrator. They have also hired new nurses and CNA's. The veteran CNAs have been wonderful with training the newcomers. I just can't say enough of how this place has helped my mother. She has gained her weight back and she has been very happy. However, I do plan to move her to a different memory care only because, now, they are allowing men in the memory care unit. I know males need a place also, but my mother hasn't had a good experience with men in memory. So this is the only reason why I'm moving her. So remember, don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. I've had incidents with some of the employees there, but this group of administration listen to your concerns and they do something about it. I know the memory care unit has been wonderful for my mother. I want to thank all the staff at Windsor House.

I like Windsor House. My mom is there. The staff is helpful and there is a lot of space for Mom to walk around. They have a new DON and new staff members. They are definitely growing in the right direction.

A good friend of mine was forced to stay here for 45 days and it was 45 days of hell. She has recording of people screaming, photos of the disgusting food, she had gotten surgery on her foot (the reason she was there) and they refused to change the wraps on her foot for 5 days right after the surgery and it got infected, one of the nurses went through her personal belongings right in front of her while being told 'don't go through that' and worse of all, they were trying their damndest to get her claimed as a 'warden of the state' they were trying to convince everyone she was crazy, trying to take her property, stole her bank card, refusing to return it. IF YOU LOVE THIS PERSON, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. As one of the nurses said, 'people come here to die'

This is a horrible place!! The smell when you walk in is horrible. They have people screaming for help because they can’t reach there call button because they have them tied up so they can’t get to them. Shower area is completely falling in. My grandmother went 9 days without a bath or shower or even having a washcloth/bedbath bath because the water in the shower was burning people because they was getting as hot as 130 degrees. They told us yesterday that they can’t drink the sink water because there so much rust in the pipes and they can’t get the pipes fixed. But they give them water to take meds and to drink with their meals. My grandmother had to stand out in the hall because another lady walked in her room and pee in her bed and they wouldn’t remove the lady and I had to find my grandma a chair for her to sit in bc she been standing for so long her legs was shaking. Over all I wouldn’t recommend putting your love one in here. We are currently trying to find another nursing home for my grandmother

I love seeing the residents up and doing activities. Their activity Director is amazing taking them puzzles and word searches just about every day. They had a great harvest festival a couple of weeks ago. The residents enjoyed dunking the dietary manger and administrator. The residents are taken care of very well.

My Mother was admitted for a rehab stay following a lengthy hospitalization and I was Leary of her going to this facility from some complaints I had heard when I worked as a Medical Social Worker.
I have been very impressed with the care and therapy she has gotten the last month. The staff has gone out of their way to be kind and compassionate. The therapy has exceeded our expectations and she actually receives more than she has at a previous facility. It is very clean though dated. My Mother is rather "high maintenance" and hard to please and this stay she has almost no complaints. A couple of the meals she didn't particularly like but that is expected when preparing for so many patients.. A big thank you from a very pleased daughter!

The conditions at Windsor House are below standards. The keypad on the door leading out to the patio from memory care has not worked in more than 6 months. Therefore, family can't take their loved one outside to the sitting area. The sliding glass door exit in the common area has been broken for
months and it is dangerous for residents.
Going out to the patio from the commons area is not possible. These are at a minimum a safety and fire hazard. The resident rooms rarely if ever get a deep cleaning. My MIL's roommate (with dementia) urinated on the floor and attempted to clean it with brown paper towels. It remained unsanitary and smelled of urine. The small trash can was full of urine soaked depends and rarely gets emptied unless her visitors take it upon themselves to do it. The CNA’s always have their noses in their phones while shouting out orders to their residents without so much as moving or redirecting the residents with any care or compassion. If we had our choice we would never send a family member here or any other Diversacare facility. The Administrator is not interested in discussing resolutions. She avoids it at all costs.

The building is old, and so are the negative reviews. We had a WONDERFUL experience here with Shirley in admissions and Glory as my dad’s shift nurse. We shared my dad’s 77th birthday cake with the staff because they are all so kind!! The staff are full of Light and Life and despite the older facilities they love their job and their patients. They did such a good job with my dad’s wound care that he was healed while there! Don’t let the building age or the old reviews influence you!
