Truly a terrible dentist! I went to him for 7 years and never under his care, I was told ai never had a cavity. After moving, I started going to a new dentist where they told me I had multiple cavities. That he never filled. Do not use this practice!!

I was unfortunately fooled by being lulled into believing this practice’s “Simply the Best” award by Harrisburg Magazine. I advise everyone to avoid this practice unless you went to encounter multiple appointments for 5 minute encounters with very apathetic staff members. My comprehensive new patient exam consisted of a 30 second look into my mouth by a cold dentist, and a quick panoramic X-ray. I was told from the get go when making the appointment that I couldn’t have my cleaning until months after due to a staffing shortage, I was respectful of that… however that new patient exam was a total joke! I was ridiculed by staff members because I had checked the option on new patient forms for having metal placed on my body as I have a permanent metal bonded retainer. The woman had mentioned the error three separate times noting each time that it was for implanted metal. I apologized, and stated I didn’t see an option for a permanent retainer thus I assumed that option had fit best as it is metal and indeed on my body. She had proceeded to tell me in response that they only do permanent retainers for patients who they think won’t be compliant with removable retainers! I immediately balked at this, and stated my top retainer is removable. I’ve honestly never felt more insulted, and then comes check out. I was informed that I need two appointments due to excessive tarter at my permanent retainer location. I’ve always had excessive tarter and never had to have two separate appointments before. I asked how that would work with my dental insurance and was informed that they didn’t know, when I pressed harder they stated they could get a prior authorization. My insurance carrier felt it was unnecessary, thus denied the authorization, and I agree with them. You can’t say that happens very often that a patient agrees with an insurance denial! When I spoke to the practice, they stated I would have to pay out of pocket for the first hygienist visit. I had asked exactly what it had entailed and was told it was simply a scrapping of my tarter before the cleaning… I’ve never heard of such a thing? So a special separate appointment BEFORE the cleaning… what!?!? Do yourself a favor, and save the time that these folks will surely waste of yours too.

Daughter was going here for about 7 years, had braces, spent 1000’s on her teeth and taking her for Preventative care ... always joked about Dr Teramae never being personable / cold and so quick to check them.. well that’s because he wasn’t!!!!! She swelled like a basketball, had a major infection in tooth, gum , and bone, 3 months, 3 root canals and major surgery to cut gums., 1000’s of money ... and then .... wait for it... has about 5 other cavities and a possible root canal done on her teeth now..wth . This started in April and my daughter is still having procedures done..... WITH Another dentist of course!!!!! He Doesn’t do his job... just takes your money... and insurance money!!!!!
