I have visited the hospital several times while my dad was having surgery. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It's definitely an older hospital, that has made every attempt to modernize. The surgical waiting room is ok and be prepared to hike to the other end of the hospital if visiting the cafeteria. I wish they had better signage, because it is a maze and a hike. Parking is great, and free!

The doctors are rude and discriminate against black and overweight and poor people. They are employed to help you but they dont. They don't look at your files, they dont listen to you, and they are fast to kick you out for trying to stand up for yourself to receive the care you need. You tell them your recent eating habits based on making sure your kids are eating something and your financial situation and its like them hearing you do nothing but sit on your butt eating nothing but fried, greasy fatty food. They see you haven't lost a single pound since they saw you last when they literally tell you to your face "if your not going to take weight loss seriously then dont bother coming back" keep in mind you have a slow metabolism that testing they did shows and continues to show. You exercise, you cut out nearly everything you are forced to but still get told your not being serious. You go back to see them years later after alot of mental and physical health problems and get told basically the same thing again. Because my changes i had to do to fit my physical limitations and allergies (try not to die while eating) its not enough for the doctor. So what if a fat person eats out once in awhile. You know how many skinny people walked into the cheesecake factory every day and order a heavy meal. I was there last night for a party and couldn't enjoy my food cause all that was in my head was the doctor telling me what i eat isn't good enough and until I eat everything that she tells me im allowed to eat i cant go back to her. I eat at most 2 times a day and the food i do eat lasts me days to finish. I was told by her nutritionist to focus on my protein but to the doctor that means dry chicken or protein shakes and food im allergic to. She told me to see a dietitian but my insurance doesn't cover the one affiliated with them. She tells me i can pay 300$ out of pocket. Who has that kind of money. Im barely getting any foodstamps to buy this expensive diet and i cant pay my bills. So she denied the surgery i need and told me when I'm going to be serious about this to try again in a year. I have been trying since middle school to lose weight i finally lost 20lbs but then had a bad car accident with injuries not being treated since i gained that weight back and is too overweight. So not only is there a doctor not helping when i need it there is no care in it. As soon as she was in the room she made her decision just looking at me not caring bout the struggle and challenges i had between the last time i seen her and now especially with my car accident with injuries not being treated and on medication that make me gain weight. Not even noting i lost 5lbs since my appointment with her nutritionist a week ago. Im trying but im just getting more and more depressed with being rejected by my doctors. Eating less and less feeling like if i can't get the help i need from my doctors or the support and care then whats the point in trying to prove to them that a overweight person is more than just their weight and there are actual struggles in life that well off people dont understand. I hate that im dismissed as anything than my weight when going to them.

I was admitted very late at night on the 29th with acute pancreatitis. My own father had to carry me into the ER because I had a severe panic attack that mimicked a psuedoseizure. I had two more of those attacks in the Emergency Department. I was watched over well in the ER, and monitored pretty frequently once I was admitted. I personally want to thank ER Nurses Adam and Rachel. They saved me during those panic attacks. I also want to thank my CNA Danielle, and my admitted RN Christine. They were all amazing people, who I wish I could thank in person again somehow. My only concern is that I saw 2 doctors for approximately a minute each during my 2-3 day stay. Their report did not reflect 100% accurately what the diagnosis truly was and refused to attribute my genetics as the main factor. Besides that, I had a good stay. Everyone who personally spent time with me made me feel like I wasn't a bother, especially the ER department.

Can't call these people your doctor bc they don't know you well enough. You see a different dr everytime!! My son and I have been patients since last year. When he was a newborn (last year) he had a very attentive doctor (Dr glasstedder) who cared about our whole family. He always checked on both parents, we truly appreciated him. Unfortunately he left the practice, fortunately for others he is practicing elsewhere! Since Dr G left, it's been a revolving door of doctors that don't know my son from a Gerber baby. It's so impersonal. They rush through the appointment and talk fast, just to get you out and get to the next patient. It's sick yo forreal. This is my child. I will be getting him a new doctor!

Now it's my turn lol! I recently went in for my own appointment, it was previously scheduled. However the day of I was feeling weak, fatigued, and out of breath. Which I TOLD my- excuse me..which I told the doctor in the room. I don't even know her name bc she was talking so fast and rushing everything. After telling her how I felt she didn't even listen to my lungs. You have an asthmatic patient telling you they're experiencing shortness of breath and you don't even touch your stethoscope? She then continued to rush through the process, writing me a script for what I need to check my blood sugar & a new inhaler. Because she was moving so quickly she only wrote me a script for test strips....so I must bite my hand like I'm eren Yeager to check my blood sugar. And the instructions for the inhaler were wrong, so I cldnt even get it from the pharmacy. That was the first time i heard a dr tell me " it looks like its about time for you to go". The patient doctor relationship here is POOR. And I won't tolerate it anymore. Oh wait yall here's the kicker ! The next day I woke up with a fever of 102!!! Come to find out I had the flu! I ended up needing a few breathing treatments and medication. Thanks doc for not paying attention to me.

Oh and this hospital has the worst ER I have seen in my entire life. I've lived in multiple states and I have never seen anything so vile...wow they really don't care about people here. I really gotta run !

The absolute lack of care, compassion and consideration from both medical staff and security is DISGUSTING. Today I went into ChristianaCares ER hoping to be seen for consistent dehydration and a terrible reaction to a medication they prescribed to me. I arrived at 10am and was told it would be a short wait after my blood work, there was 5 people ahead of me and to just hold tight... that short wait turned into 5 hours of hearing NOTHING back from any staff and when I asked my fiance to check how many people were ahead of me they informed him it was now 7 people ahead of me. Usually this would make sense to me but there was a wait room full of people barely being able to stay conscious, some were projectile vomiting and others and been there since 6am. The security staff were completely inappropriate and aggressive towards the mentally and physically disabled and there were vomiting and fluid stains on almost every tile of the floor. I've been coming to this hospital my entire life and I have NEVER seen it so atrocious and vile, I have never seen so many Healthcare "professionals" stand back while multiple people are literally clawing for help and the only way to even get a nurse to react is to pass out or profusely bleed.

The staff in this Hospital go far beyond what the motor in them can push them to do.
While the Staff is caring for your loved one...
To even when they're saving lives.
The sleepless nights... Not only for a job.
This is what they love & trained extensively to do.
While the whole time...
Their own family
Hasn't seen them in 2...3...days at a time and when they do see their family it's for a brief time,then back to their Hospital Duties.

This hospital has terrible bedside manner. I am a heart patient, an educator, I was diagnosed with COVID 19 and pain all over. I was in a major car accident too. I have no way of paying for my medication because no money coming in. They didn't give me any medicine to fight the COVID and kicked me out of the Hospital like I was a criminal. My stomach is cramping and body cramping from COVID 19 and a accident that I was in a few weeks ago. They handed me a bus pass and kicked me out of the Hospital and said it's safe to go to the Sunday breakfast mission around other people, go to my mom's where my special needs sister is at with a fever of 106. I have served this community for over 20 years in our Education system and they should be ashamed for how they treat people here, especially Educators. I will be reporting this to the proper authorities.

My cousin is currently in there has been for a couple of weeks now and the staff are nothing but rude and the nurses have no idea what they are doing. They keep giving him false information about how his medicine they all keep giving different answers to the same question. These are supposed to be professional trained doctors and nurses and they act like they have no common sense.
