Expect a long wait at the emergency dept. typically after arriving at the Emergency Dept door it takes at least three hours to get back into observation or into a bed, from there it takes more hours to find a suitable bed in the main hospital but at least your care has begun. If you can try and get your doctor to pre-admit you to the hospital so that you can wait for a phone call from the hospital to sort out insurance information and then another phone call that will tell you a bed is open and where to report to, then you can literally walk from the front door to your hospital bed without any interruptions.

The staff is lovely and there to help you, the nurses are responsive and well informed and trained. The personal care techs are gentle and pleasant. You will meet a bunch of different doctors and specialists but they stay well abreast of your chart so you shouldn't be repeating your symptoms and maladies constantly; but you should be prepared to answer many repetitive questions, that is just modern medicine for you.

All and all a good hospital but it would be nicer if the Emergency Department was a little faster.

I took my wife to the heart and vascular center this morning for some blood work. When our appointment time came we were checked in, my wife was taken to draw blood and we were on our way in a total of 15 minutes. Everyone was cheerful, proficient an professional. My wife, who really hates needles said didn't even feel any pain! Results were posted on the patient portal the same day. What more could you ask for or expect.

Arrived at 8:10 a.m. for a 10:30 a m. procedure. Two hours late on the procedure with zero communication. Woman at the desk offered no help. Almost 1 p.m. and still in the waiting room where eating is not allowed. Not patient escort friendly. Absolute horrible customer relations. Certainly wish there were more options.

All the doctors aND nurses on 3d34 and 3d 21 gave me the very best care I could ever receive last week. They were comforting, knowledgeable and super compassionate. I will always be grateful for their terrific service and dedication

Preparation for surgery and the surgery itself was good however the the follow up after surgery has been horrible. Between the surgeon and Chrias I have been rescheduled 5 times. I can not get refills, Vitamin D and other post surgery meds, refilled due to that I must be seen but my visits have been rescheduled or cancelled due to staffing issues. My 6 month visit has been cancelled and I can't be given a new date until new staff has been hired and trained. It is ludicrous.

Largest and best hospital in the state of Delaware. Quality and comprehensiveness of the healthcare at this hospital is far better than the smaller hospitals downstate, which is why people travel far to come here.

My husband recently a heart ablation done by DR. J.Pennington at the Heart and Vascular Center. The recovery was made easy by the caring and professional staff. This all contributed to the success of the procedure.
