My mother was admitted to Big Spring Rehab for a short stay to regain strength after a short stay in the hospital for a UTI. Wednesday June 19th was her 1st full day, by Saturday, 3 days later, she was 10 times worse with confusion and mobility. During her stay, she was not given her phenobarbital which she has taken for 30 years due to brain tumor surgery and was not given her pain medication which is a daily medication she has taken for years due to osteoporosis. both should not be just stopped cold turkey. when I asked about it, all I got was excuses and nothing resolved. I witness my mom laying in a urine soaked bed and feces!! With a pullup full of poop laying next to the bed in the floor. I walked up and down the hall looking for someone that worked there and there was no one It was absolutely horrible and a disgrace for someone to be treated that way. no one would ever come when she pushed button she screamed for help no one came. This was on saturday, Sunday morning, I received a call at 6am that my mom refused care, I am like What CARE!! I went and had to call an ambulance to take my mom to Hospital. she was having black outs and terrified of the head nurse!!! My mom was traumatized by what happened to her. she went just for rehab and ended in another hospital stay. She has not regained her
ability to walk with her walker or her mental status, as she was prior to going there. My mother did not have dementia!!!!!! There is so much more, that I will leave for our attorneys. They are all liars and neglect their patients. Please, Please do not put your family member here!!!! I feel so sorry for the ones that cannot speak for themselves! I will never understand how this place can continue to stay open!!!!! everything about it is unprofessional!!!

I gave 1 star to leave this review.. my mother was sent to this place for a short rehab stay after being released from Huntsville hospital.. ended up leaving after 10 day having seizures because they were not giving her the medicine she was supposed to be taken, which caused multiple seizures .. DONT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE!! I saw the reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt but .. I should have listened to the reviews!!!!!!!

I cannot recommend this place due to mostly negligence in regard to patient nursing care (meds not given at the proper times, incorrectly or not at all) lack of concern for patients needing assistance (techs leave patients wet, soiled, sick without responding to calls) and at times abusive behavior from the staff to patients (withholding food, yelling and cursing at the patients). There is a handful of good staff but not enough to override the negative aspects.

I wish I could rate 0 stars. They leave your family member in urine soaked bed for hours. Also injuries go unreported and staff lies about almost everything. Their day shift charge nurse needs to retire and the administrator and her scratch each other's back. I hate this place and wish it would close.

I wish I could rate less than a one star. My mom was there for 10 days. She only received 1 bath during the stay, even after requested one the whole time. The never changed out her pick line for her antibiotics. Should have been changed twice. The first 3 days she didn’t receive any of her medications. Including her blood thinners that she is on for life due to open heart surgery. 9/10 nights they forgot to bring her dinner and she would have to call for hours to get someone to bring her something. I came up there, I was buzzed in by a random guy that was walking by. I had my moms stuff in a backpack. No one asked who I was seeing or where I was going. Walked thru, never stopped. Only 2, I mean 2 nurses for the entire building. When discharged with no notice at all. I got there and no one seemed to know what was going on and said I would have to come back later. They ended up getting her out within 10 minutes.I didn’t have to sign anything, no discharge paperwork. No set up for home health services. Not to mention when I was trying to make sure I didn’t need to be buzzed out, if course no staff around, the entire side smelled of urine. They have been contacted by the home health now taking care of her, they have none of her medication or care at j their system. Please don’t put anyone here. It’s horrible.

I wish I could leave a review and give them no stars. DO NOT put your loved ones in this place. They are extremely understaffed and outdated. Patients have to sit in their own urine and accidents. The call button will go unanswered for over 30 minutes. There’s not enough staff for the patient load of the facility, and that’s dangerous. If your family does end up here, god forbid you ask about filing a complaint. My family did that and was later told my father would be discharged due to insurance coverage. Remember, a social worker arranges everything and CONFIRMS insurance coverage before you ever set foot in the building. As you can probably guess, a social worker later told us everything was fine with our insurance and my father was covered. The moral to the story of our experience? PLEASE find a better facility for your family members.

If there was a no star alternative that’s what they would receive. Like others, no communication, unknown as to whether there is ever a physician on-site. Unknown if my mother was actually be given her medication.
Brand new clothes and throws went missing every other day. My first visit with her was on a Sunday and I had to beg people to come and help my mother.
On 7/13, my mother was sent to ED unresponsive, and never woke up. She died 7/15. Family visited her the morning of 7/13 and she was fine.

She had an undiagnosed and untreated UTI.
I’m with the others, please do not take a loved one here unless you can stay with them 24/7.
Business manager was green and had to call someone for basic answers of a Medicaid application.
Stay away!

Great cnas in the morning, especially Twin. Food was always cold. At times you were left in a wet diaper for 4 to 5 hours. They are very short staffed. Pt and OT very great especially Presely. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
