Doctor Carpenter is excellent. Unfortunately, their business as a whole needs help. Rude staff answers the phone if they even answer. Extremely difficult to speak with anyone here. Placed on hold for 10-20 minutes at a time, again, if they even answer the phone. Having to see a doctor can be one of the most horrific things someone has to do in this life. Courteous and caring service goes a long way in this industry and that is something a majority of Doctors offices lack.

I came to this medical group when I was first diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes. In the initial visits, the staff was nice and sounded very carrying. But few months into my diagnoses, everyone dropped the ball. My pharmacy tried reaching out to them to refill my medication, I personally tried to call in and get my meds refilled but no one answered the calls. I was not able to make it into the office during work week because of my work schedule, so I decided to go in on Saturday and they were close. So I decided to take a day off from work (on a Friday) and go see my doctor, the clinic was closed. Tried that few times over couple of months and ran into same issue again and again. No one from the clinic tried to follow up or call me to see why I haven't came back in for a checkup and I was forced to look into another clinic. I made lots of calls and no one was taking new patients, so I decided to give these guys another chance and finally meet my doctor in-person after a year. When I told her what had happened, she sounded very sincerely apologetic and said they would make sure that never happens again. But again few months in and I called the clinic and the staff puts me on hold and never returns.

I would highly recommend going to some other clinic, if you need special attention and constant communication with your doctors.

Terrible experience all around - the front desk lady Pam is so rude, lacks empathy, very transactional - doesn't care about the patients. I first came to this office in Jan of 2023 as a new patient. There were two doctors working in this office a the time, Dr. Von Stieff and Dr. Christina Carpenter. I had 4 total visits and not once was able to see one of the doctors - each time I would call to make an appointment I was told they were booked months out, but that I could see the nurse practitioner instead. I needed to get some bloodwork done as I was experiencing some health issues so I ended up seeing the NP. When I received the bloodwork I had called to ask if they could explain the results in which they told me I needed to make an appt to do so...why would I need to make an appt for you to discuss my bloodwork? The front desk lady finally gave in and tried to explain what the results showed. She told me that I cysts on my ovaries and therefore had PCOS - she did not explain what any of that meant or give me any sort of reassurance that all would be OK. The delivery was extremely cold and as a 31 year old woman I was of course worried and had questions. She told me that if I had any other questions I would need to make an appt to see the doctor and ended our call. Do not come here if you're looking for a healthcare provider that actually cares about your well being.

Dr. Von Stieff was my PCP for travel vaccines. His office’s new team, front desk, Nurse Ryan, and NP Alison Sloan are extraordinary, and uber patient-centric. Never have I felt so welcomed and I appreciated, NP Alison’s ability to stay present, shine with empathy, and diligently document my care—> first time I have seen a medical professional master the bureaucracy of the computer and still deliver perfect and genuine care. Highly recommend. Very kind and cohesive team dynamic and appointments were readily available with scripts promptly sent to local pharmacy. Bravo Von Stieff Medical Group!

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Dr. Richard Carpenter is very caring and helpful. Only downfall to this place is the location as there’s not much parking. Other than that, great place.

Double charged and refused to refund for one of them. Originally went for a TB test and was told to come back on a Saturday. They ended up being closed so I needed to retest. They refused to cooperate. After calling multiple times the woman on the phone would answer and hang up without helping me. Then eventually gave me an “email” to send a complaint and the email address is nonexistent. Every person I’ve spoken to has been incredibly rude. Do not come here. You’re better off going to Kaiser.

Very disappointed, been coming to see Dr. Karpenter or Dr. Von steiff for the past decade, have taken the same meds for the past 5 years, going in annually to go over them, never had any changes and all of a sudden I see a new dr. At their practice and now I have to call and fight to get every single med filled when for the last 5 years, none of which are controlled substances, I have had no problems. I'm so upset and actually am suffering from mental health deterioratation and collapse from having to advocate so hard for myself monthly now. A month ago we met and decided on no changes but after $140 and a visit last month, they are now telling me to go elsewhere. I wish they would have told me before I made a pointless visit last month. Unbelievable. They don't care anymore and have gone extremely downhill. If you are a recovering addict, they don't care about you anymore. These new doctors are a waste of time. Don't bother going to this practice. It's a joke and they don't want to help you. So incredibly disappointing, frustrating, and not ethical.

My first visit with Dr. Von Stieff started out a little slow, as the office was really behind schedule, but upon meeting Fred (the Dr.) I was extremely pleased with his level of care and attentiveness to me as a new patient. Really intelligent and funny and a very compassionate doctor. I definitely like him, and his front office staff gave me a sincere apology about the delay in my appointment before I left, which I also genuinely appreciated. Really neat to see a father-daughter practice too (Dr. Carpenter is his daughter). I definitely believe you are in capable hands if you pick Dr. Von Stieff as your health care provider.
