UnitedHealthCare is based in the USA, but the vast majority of calls to them go to call centers offshore. I, like many Americans, do NOT want to have to deal with trying to understand the individual on the other end of the line to resolve an issue we are having with our insurance — something many of us hate to deal with anyway. If I am going to take the time to call to resolve an issue, you can guarantee that my feathers are already a bit ruffled before I even pick up the phone. Trying to communicate with someone whose first language is NOT English does not make the matter any better.

One hour and approximately 10 people later, I still do NOT have the issue of being overcharged for my premium resolved, nor have I been able to cancel my plan.

If you refuse to use Americans to staff your call centers on American soil, you should not be doing business in the USA.

Prior authorization king. You and your doctor will waste time convincing UHC to pre-approve everything! While you suffer and watch your life pass by. They say they cover everything in the policy but omit that you need pre-approval for everything in their policy. That can take up more than a year!

I have been trying to get a prior authorization done and it’s been almost three weeks now and I still haven’t gotten the approval! I’ve tried talking to my doctor and nothing! I’ve tried calling the pharmacy and nothing, so I called my insurance company which is you guessed it! None other than United Healthcare. I called and spoke to a representative and she said that she would call me back with the information I needed and no surprise there! No call back!! Now I’m having to call back again and be in hold once more! No explanation yet!! I will not be reenrolling with this company ever again! I also don’t recommend them either!! 😡

The psychiatrists will give you incorrect and misleading information about medication. The chat function is worse than useless, and there are times where it refuses to let you schedule an appointment with your doctor

They care only for their shareholders not their people who are sick and suffering. The American medical system is evil and UH is a prime example of why we need universal healthcare

A physical reminder that there are those that toil to deny healthcare to their own countrymen. Up to 33% denial rates. Profiteers and pushers of human misery.
