I've been in 2 other mental facilities and this is by far the worst. I was on the adolescent unit. It is dirty and it smells awful. The staff are very rude and will literally fight with the kids there. It is very toxic, the staff curse and will laugh at you if your raise your voice when your upset. You can tell the staff hate their jobs, the day shift is just awful they wake you up at 6am and if you don't get up you will hear about it all day and if you miss breakfast you will not eat till lunch. The night shift is okay but not good, the night shift nurses are somewhat nice Nurse Jess is the best 100%. You are NOT safe here I got into a physical fight with two of the kids there and when the fight started there was only ONE staff on the unit. I got punched in the face by a girl and then my room mate got pushed and hit by a 17 year old boy. The staff do not keep you safe and they do not care either. This place just wants you in and out they are not interested in helping you in any way. I needed to get out asap so I just lied about how I was feeling and I got out in a week. If you are reading this and someone wants to send you or a loved one there DO NOT GO!

I will continue to leave good reviews for this place as each one of my stays here have been very impactful for my journeys. I arrived on 12/26/24 and stayed until 1/9/25 and 5 South has continued to be a very great supporting group of professionals to help get my medications on track to help me each time. Tower Behavioral Health has been so great that in 3 years, I plan to work there as a psychiatric nurse. With my experiences in psych wards, I plan to use my knowledge to help many individuals beat depression and deal with their suicidal thoughts with better coping skills and support. Thank You TBH in giving me hope to use my past psychiatric experiences to show how I can improve the mental health world and see a fun and positive future up ahead for myself with great goals and opportunities in my near future.

THB hospital is the most unprofessional and negligent mental health provider I’ve come across. They accepted my son, who is 19 yo from the ER in Pottstown. They accepted him, admitted him, as we had a crisis. He is an adult with an intellectual disability who has intrusive thoughts

We didn’t consent to treatment there we made them aware we asked social worker Natalie Santiago to give us time and a meeting to discuss with her team and our team next steps to get him into the facility she asked for releases POAs records and ignored us 4 days and then put my son in an uber sent him to my house
Natalie Santiago
Her supervisor Gracie
Pshyc nurse Teresa
Clinical assistant Tom

All need to be fired - and I’m actively looking for how to file a lawsuit suit! For the trauma stress and emotional mental hardship and negating my son his rights as a person with a. Disability to have his family and social worker present to understand why he was there and what help they’d get him and discharge without a proper evaluation

While i was here i had ups and downs. My Skin check involved of me stripping all of my clothes off and getting paper gowns. MY "doctor" told me he wasn't a doctor and he never put in doctors orders for my stuff. Tom if you read this, get better at your job. Other things that sucked is that the fact of our "beacons" in unit 3N (adol. unit). We always had to shake our arm or leg until the I-Pads got a better connection. They also don't allow stuffed animals, but Horsham did. While i was in here another patient tried to strangle themselves. All staff did was tell them "its only gonna make you pass out" and threaten to restrain them on the floor. A different patient from "high side" tried to attack my side and fellow patients. BOO!! I hopw if you ever do need to go then you don't get doctor tom. (PS they said they needed my blood or things but never took it)

Update: Emailed twice and got no response. That should be all you need to know.

As I approach my one year of sobriety, I’m thankful. However, my time at TBH only made me want to never return. I felt like a lab rat. I was unknowingly given Wellbutrin which caused a seizure and sent me to the ER. They chalked it up to alcohol withdrawal and took no accountability. They treat everyone at the same very low baseline. Desk staff couldn’t be bothered with simple asks like water and soap. Treat people who need help with some grace and not farm animals that you need to herd.

This place is filled with abusive staff members. Beware of Dr. Braxton Baker. The man is rude and incompetent and should never have been permitted to treat patients! I never once met with my assigned social worker, but she was quick to accuse me of things when I tried to transfer into another program. One nurse Natasha screamed at me as did Dr. Baker. They did not properly read the forms I came in with, and so they illegally kept me there for an additional day. When I pointed it out, he screamed at me and forced me to sign a form saying I consented to the extra day in order to leave.

I normally love this place I have been struggling some and missed an appointment so I called to re schedule today. And was given attitude and was talked down to for no reason by someone named Amy, if you’re going to work in the mental health field you should try to be professional. What a joke. Can’t wait until my next appointment to speak with someone about this in person
