My mother has been a resident twice in the last year at the Goldton. The first time she wasn't ready. She still felt too independent. Not wanting to move in with her kids and not able to remain at her home, she moved back for a second time. She is adjusting quickly to the wonderful care she is getting. When we moved her in she had a faulty alarm and it would go off for no reason. They would swarm her room thinking she needed assistance. This truly convinced me we had made the right decision. (The problem was quickly resolved). This past week we have been involved in selling my mother's personal items and had a large estate sale over the weekend. My mother would randomly collect money for items sold and placed it in her pocket. She accidentally left a large amount of money in her pocket and sent her things to be laundry. The sweet team member who was responsible for doing her laundry found the money and quickly returned it to my mother. That act alone sealed the decision about were mama should be. I had no idea she had money or how much she had but the young lady was honest in returning it. Blessed my heart. We are still adjusting to this new season and the Goldton is working very hard to help her acclimate....they just won't let her go to the kitchen and cook for the crowd.? Thank you for your watch and care over our precious treasure!! We are loving our new family.

My sister-in-law has blossomed here. Zena, the activities director, is always doing something fun with the residents. And Michala is an awesome aide! She has helped get my sister-in-law to try some of the activities like Bingo and the devotionals. Very attentive staff here!

The workers there started treating my dad really bad. One guy took his button away so he didn't have to go help him. We have recordings of workers disrespecting my dad. It looks really nice and it started out good, but it went bad after a couple of months.

My Momma moved here in September 2020. As everyone knows 2020 was a crazy and scary time. Traditions done everything to keep all it’s residents safe and had planned in house activities to pass the time. My Momma has enjoyed living here. I have peace of mind that all her needs are being met. I highly recommend Traditions of Athens!

I moved in The Goldton at Athens in April of 2021 after much research of other local facilities. Shannon Oakley was very significant in my decision because of all of the texts, messages and phone calls she did for me. When I walked through the door and saw “Welcome Home” I knew I was! I have not regretted my decision and am very happy to be here.
