Tamal Vista family dentistry is outstanding in every way, from the ladies at the front desk to the hygienist and the dentists. The environment is beautiful, modern and clean. Dr. McDowell is a kind, gentle and skilled dentist going above and beyond to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of his patients. I have a lot of anxiety around anything medical or dental, and Dr. McDowell puts my mind at ease every time. He is comforting and explains things in a clear and reassuring way. Heather is an amazing hygienist! She performs a comfortable and thorough cleaning every time while keeping me constantly entertained with her lovely bedside manner and wonderful sense of humor. I actually look forward to going to the dentist to see her.

I rarely write online reviews. I’ve been a patient of Dr. McDowell and Tamal Vista Family Dentistry for about 9 years. Dr. McDowell is extremely thorough, skilled, articulate, and knowledgeable. He is also one of the kindest, most compassionate, and most patient healthcare professionals I’ve ever met. I have had other dentists to compare him to. He’s the absolute best. I highly recommend him and his staff. You will feel safe with him and extremely well taken care of.

Wonderful experience throughout my visit. I thought the doctor and staff were professional and courteous. After my son accidentally chipped away his two front teeth when he was in elementary school, we were referred to Dr. McDowell. Our initial visit was handled professionally and will much skill and expertise. We knew we were in the right hands for his lifetime of dentistry, plus my son really liked him and even looked forward to going to the dentist. Since then, I moved my other kids to his practice and every visit has been handled perfectly. Recently my son was making the switch to the crown, and he had developed an infection. Dr. McDowell responded to our inquiry during the holiday break, and booked an appointment to take care of him on a Saturday after Christmas. He needed the dreaded root canal. I was able to watch the entire procedure, and observing Dr. McDowell and his assistant work was highly impressive. Dr. McDowell is extremely knowledgable, professional, swift in going through the many intricate steps, all the while, having the most supportive and comforting bed side manner. The equipment in the office is state of the art - in an instant all x ray views were seen, and the necessary action was taken. There is definitely a range of professionalism, ability, office aesthetics and equipment out there when it comes to dentists and office. You won't find anything better than Tamal Vista Family Dentistry. I give them a 10/10 and highly recommend Dr. McDowell and his entire office. Thank you so very much Dr. McDowell!!!

These guys are great. I have loved working with Dr Scott and Heather. They are both fantastic and I would not want to go anywhere else. I have had a fair amount of teeth work done and these guys helped direct me and make sure my mouth was in a place for my teeth to last for a long time!!!

Can't recommend them enough!! Love my cleanings with Heather. She has a gentle touch for the cleanings and is nice to catch up with. Feels like family there!!!

I developed a toothache last week. After waiting 24 hours to make it was serious, I called Tamal Family Dentistry office on a Friday morning at 8 AM. I was given an appointment 3 hours later and seen by a dentist. After a thorough evaluation with X-Rays and photos taken, it was determined I had developed a fungal infection. I was given instructions. The dentist called in a prescription and called me to tell me it was ready. I later realized that my insurance wouldn’t cover that pharmacy so I called back. The dentist was willing to call the script into the second pharmacy. I am very pleased with this level of care and willingness to work with me. I highly recommend Tamal Family Dentists!
