I’m writing this review as a caregiver. The attention that my friend has received here at Sunnyside nursing has been amazing. The tenderness, the attention, the soft care. The cleanliness has been exceptional. Her stay here as hard as it’s been has made it easier with how she’s been treated and I certainly appreciate this and I recommend Sunnyside nursing to anyone who is in need of a nursing home

I want to explain about this place called Sunnyside Kaiser Permanente placed my mother in this facility due to a brain bleed that she had. She was there for approximately 4 to 5 months first of all. My mother was in a room. We kept asking him to get us for her, we were told that she would get a telephone so we could communicate because I’m out of town in North Carolina Beginning there was a phone, but when they switched her to another room, she did not have a phone at all so we could not contact my mother. My mother has fallen at this Facility. I’ve tried to talk to the social worker. I’ve called to speak to administrator. I’ve asked for calls no one ever returned my calls back. My mother’s belongings were stolen By staff because the patient that was in her room was unable to move. My mother was supposed to receive rehab multiple times a week. She only received rehab maybe 12 times why she was there.. Oh, she went back in for basically another brain bleed. My brother had to call me and let me know the facility did not call and let me know Up my mother’s release they were supposed to get her medication’s together so She would be able The medication that will prescribe at the facility. They sent my mother home with bubble popped. Medication packets did not assist her making an appointment prior to her, leaving for her Primary follow up appointment. I was also on the phone with the social workers and the discharge planning along with my brother that stated that they would set up a home health outpatient nurse to come and basically assist my mother because she wasn’t 100% my mother’s been home almost 2 months now do you know, there has been no one to check up on my mother not one so all of those things that they said that they Were doing were false so now I’m in the purpose I have to quit my job to come and do for my mother because this facility that said that they were great and they would do the best of their ability drop the ball your family member to this facility. FYI, I work in emergency medical care so I am very aware of the procedures and what is supposed to go on in order to provide short term long-term and after care for patients

I would like to just comment on the facility I’ve been lucky enough to be in for the last two weeks.
Sunnyside and the staff have been wonderful to me. Friendly , professional, helpful and comforting. Especially Miss Ruth and Dree. Helpful and loving! The rest were equally important but I have a memory problem with names. I would give this facility the highest rate.

I will never forget my first night of work at this facility. I was assigned to a rude and definitely prejudice Philippine or Asian nurse that wouldn't even talk to me nor look at me right next to her. I walked around trying to get someone to help me but was left alone so I had to call my husband to come back and pick me up. Next day I went back to talk to personnel and they didn't do nothing and I respectfully told them that no one will stay employed there if they have prejudice staff and I will never work anywhere that makes me uncomfortable. It was the most hurtful and cold experiences I've ever had. They going to mess with the wrong person and have a nasty lawsuit on their hands. That facility needs to be shut down quick fast in a hurry! NO STARS NEEDED FOR THIS ONE!

Do NOT send your family to this facility unless you don’t care about them at all! Multiple cases of patients running away/escaping. There are little to no cameras to ensure the safety of the patients. Workers are highly mistreated and the new maintenance manager is threatening to cut workers pay. Not a good environment all around

Sunnyside? Ehh, it lives up to its name just only on the outside but it's a stark difference inside. The nurses who took care of my grandma were lazy and incompetent. They left my grandma in soaked diapers for God who knows how long. When I attempt to ask for a diaper, I had to ask multiple people because they don't know where they are. When I visit my grandma, they put on a show, they changed her linens and put baby powder. My grandma also has heat rashes because they didn't turn on the A/C as much. Update: the care is so bad to the point where my grandma got admitted to the hospital. The work environment is not good, so respiratory therapists are slowly leaving Sunnyside. Consequently, my grandma didn’t get suctioned often. However, the physical therapists are caring and punctual in performing their tasks. Therefore, if you leave your loved ones here, you will regret it.

The people here make the difference. It's not an easy job. But I want to say they are really responsible, keep loved ones informed, and are well organized.
Aurelia: thank you. You are so kind warm and loving to the patients.
Shirly: thank you so much for your compassion and care for my family
member.
Ale: Thanks for helping someone totally new to the process through all the steps, even though you are very busy.
Dr Hthien, thank you for explaining everything to me in such patient detail and with kindness!

To All my registry workers be aware of booking doubles: I booked a double for Oct 11 and Saturday OCT 12th and they cancelled one of my shifts for each day for “staffing purposes”, but I expressed to the facility that I’m not coming for one shift. They told me to cancel in which I kindly declined because that would affect my attendance score so they decided to DNR me. Very rude and unprofessional on their end might I add lol.
