Last summer, following surgery, my sister entered St Mary’s for rehab and it went so well that this was her first choice for placement. Staff are friendly and helpful. Staff explain what they are doing with her care. My sister is blind so this helps a lot. Ellen recently had a medical crisis. Staff worked with UW Health, tests were done and reported. I am impressed with how this was done. A special shout out to Renee RN. Her professionalism shined. She coordinated care and transfer to the ER. My sister so appreciated her presence, her calm reassuring voice while explaining what was happening. Later, scared and confused, the memory of Renee’s voice was reassuring. From my own experience, that voice of calm reason means everything. Thank you Renee and staff for your professional skills.

My mom has been at SSM health Saint Mary’s for a couple of years. They take great care of her! The staff has been very understanding and helpful with all of my mom‘s needs.

Wish I could give a higher rating my family has had a few issues with the care of our mother. There seems to be a problem with co.munication or lack of. There has been a few staff that have a bad attitude at times. Otherwise I have seen some caring staff and some great nurses.

I work for a funeral home, when calling the St. Mary's Care Center on Maple Grove Lane in Madison for a question about when the Dr. was going to be signing paperwork- we were met with a rude, condescending and very defensive nurse, this happened on more than one occasion for the same case. There were many issues, when I ask if they could point me in the direction of a different Dr. or even some medical records as to who I could contact if they could not help, I was told it isn't their issue and that we needed to stop being so "rediculously persistent" her tone was awful and then told me to have a great day and hung up. It is highly disappointing when you are trying to care for someones loved one to be treated this way, we should all be working together during end of life care. Do better St. Mary's!

Just spent 4 days in StMary after surgery. The staff are absolutely exemplary in their professionalism and empathy. I could not have been looked after better by any group of professionals and everybody I interacted with from the cleaning, nursing, catering and indeed medical staff were absolutely fantastic. The food was well prepared and generally very acceptable and I thought it was wonderful to have nursing staff with a real sense of humour - brilliant! Great pity Google doesn’t allow for more than 5 stars!

My Mom has been a resident of SMCC since late 2017. Based on her health challenges she requires skilled nursing care 24/7. The care she has received over this timeframe has been absolutely outstanding! This includes managing the pandemic which has had a significant impact on congregate settings elsewhere - fortunately, my Mom never had a COVID infection and was well taken care off during this challenging time. SMCC also very effectively manages her day-to-day clinical and social needs - there is a pharmacy on-site, competent and caring nursing support, wonderful nursing assistants and other excellent support from the activities coordinator, maintenance man, nutritional services, etc. Everyone is just really fantastic and deserves recognition for exceptional support that they provide. I can't thank the management and staff enough for all that they do.

I chose SMCC for my 2-week rehab. after surgeries following a bicycle (me) vs. pickup truck accident. I could not be happier with that decision. The facilities are exceptional, and the care I received and the staff were even better.

Going from one facility (hospital trauma unit) to another (rehab.), you never know for sure if t's a positive or negative move until the decision and transfer is done. This was a very positive change for me.

My therapists (OT/PT) were outstanding. The nursing staff was caring and accommodating to my individual needs. Staff coordination with my insurance was thoughtful and thorough. I had regular visits from administrative staff to be sure that my needs were being met by regular staff, and that any questions I might have had were answered.

I found the atmosphere nurturing, encouraging, personal, and I connected with many of the staff one-on-one, especially those I interacted with routinely.

I can fully recommend this facility and its care as five-star in every way.
