I would give zero stars if I could, this hospital does not care about patients or the long term outcome of how poorly they were treated here!! How many lives have they taken? How prejudice they are! They refuse to do procedures on me because I have a form of Hemoglobinopathy that is like a sickle cell trait and they don't know how to monitor me correctly under anesthesia, meanwhile, they have been doing procedures for years prior. They said they don't have many sickle cell patients because they don't get many people like that, people like what? I know what they meant.
If you have any psychiatric issue, DO NOT COME HERE!! Security laughs at you and staff thinks it's funny and will talk about you in front of your family. It's seriously disgusting and disturbing at how sickening this place is and because they have a huge legal team and doctors are afraid to go against doctors. Nobody holds them accountable for any of it.
And forget trying the patient representative to help or come to a solution. She can't. She is the same, all about the bottom line and protecting St. Clair and she will sing it's praises and hand you off to someone else. She has no interest in solving the problem or resolving the issue.
If you question your care, you are a crazy person and called rude. So NEVER question your care and if you feel you need something you aren't getting in the hospital stay, don't ask. Some Doctors have a complex that they are always right. And some are rude and disrespectful. They also chart inaccurately about you and lie.
PLEASE make your complaint to The Joint Commission On Hospital Accreditation, this WILL be the ONLY place your voice will be heard and make an impact.

Was there on 3-25-25 for emergency foot surgery. EVERY staff member was overly kind, patient and caring. I had 8 different nurse assistants and nurses on my two day stay. Absolutely fantastic staff, I wish I could remember all their names. Even the cat scan gent came and checked on me day two. It’s not even his job he was just being kind when he saw me. That’s the kind of service that I will return to if necessary. Also Dr. Zack, who did my surgery was very kind and informative. While I stayed there, I witnessed and heard a majority of disrespectful and a rude patients. People, yelling and cussing at the staff & the whole time they kept their composure. The nurse on staff Jinn Was so kind and patient, even though she was being screamed and cursed at for no reason whatsoever.
I see a lot of bad reviews on here and I seriously wonder if their actual bad experiences or just bad people making bad experiences for themselves. Also, I must double commend the nursing assistants on staff I do not remember their names. I know the one lady was from Columbia and they were top-notch professionals, even though I had many needs because I couldn’t walk.

Let me just start my saying I'm biased. I was born here. In spite of that, I've had to unfortunately come in for four times in the last 2 months into the ER. Yes, some days they are understaffed and busy. Yes, some days the waiting room can be full. Do you not notice the ambulances coming in though? So many people don't understand triage. Please be kind and patient to them. As a former medic in the army, you don't know what it's like back there or how hard they work. Yes, some nights some staff can appear short but please keep this in mind: you're here for a few hours, they're here for 12. They are working around the clock day and night dealing with let's be frank cranky, rude, loud jerks. Yes you might be there for a few hours. At least you get to go home after. This hospital has saved 2 of my family members lives now, and I'll be forever grateful to them for that. They took great care of me when my house caught fire and I was asleep in it. They've taken great care of me since they brought me into this world.

TOO LONG DIDNT READ? Have some basic human decency and a little compassion.

I would leave this hospital 0 stars, but I want to leave a review warning people to go elsewhere - so I'll grace them with an undeserved 1 in the hopes that someone will read about our experience and make a better, more informed decision when seeking out emergency care.

My dad went into the ER with a dangerously high heart rate & difficulty breathing. On the first day in the ER, doctors told him that if they didn't get his heart rate down, it could cause irreversible damage on top of his pre-existing condition. He was then left in the ER for 2 days struggling to breathe, and a 3rd day in the cardiac unit before he got the procedure he needed. During his 2 days in the ER, nurses repeatedly came into his room, treated him poorly, & gave us attitude because his heart monitor was alerting non-stop due to his condition - they said it was "annoying" them. Another nurse said that if any other person arrived at the ER in the same state, they would have been coded. But still he sat there for days until we finally asked for a patient advocate. It was only then that they conveniently had a bed available in the cardiac unit.

He was supposed to receive a procedure on the second morning of his ER stay, and at the end of the 2nd day, we found out it was canceled with no explanation. We had to call a cardiologist from another hospital for a second opinion, only to find out that St. Clair canceled the procedure due to an internal miscommunication. It added another day & night of suffering for my dad.

One of the worst parts of this visit was interacting with the doctor who finally completed the necessary procedure on the 3rd day of his stay. Because we sought out a second opinion due to our lack of trust in this hospital system, he treated us with disrespect and hostility. Sorry, but the life & care of a loved one will always take priority over a doctor’s ego.

At the end of this, after the procedure, my dad had lessened heart functionality due to a negligent hospital system, the length of time he sat in the condition he was in, and untrustworthy, unprofessional staff. Please, please go elsewhere if you are having a medical emergency.

My dad has congestive heart failure and he was brought in by ambulance and taken to the back of the emergency room
for triage. It was a Sunday evening, which I understand is a tough time for Hospital staff, but we came for a reason. My dad was having chest discomfort and some problems breathing
We waited for hours even though I told them that my dad who is 96 is on a regiment of medicines at certain times of the day and he wasn’t getting them this evening. There were several empty beds and staff sitting at the desk . They said to wait because he is under a doctors care and that medicine stays in a person’s system and not to worry about it. I did not like that answer.. I am very disappointed about how no one came back and asked us how we were or how things were going or what was going to happen next. When I asked how long it would be the nurse said “I don’t know that’s how emergency rooms are”. I have been a long time fan of Saint Clair Hospital but this emergency room experience really disappointed me. When I asked the nurse at the front desk in the triage department what was happening she was rude and disrespectful. People are worried and stressed when they come here. She said very rudely that there are 46 people here not just us so she made us feel very unimportant. To be rude and impatient is uncalled for. This was on the evening of Sunday December 8 at

They didn't register me until I was leaving. They didn't seem to want to take care of really anything until near the end They didn't feed me and I was starving for some reason. They didn't give me water, which made no sense. Considering it's been a week since my injury and I was very thirsty clearly, I was drinking water the whole time, and it didn't affect the damn thing. I was there for hours with no bed. No room at all to myself sitting by the nurse's station, barely being seen by anyone.Very displeased.

My family and I live abroad and came home for the holidays. We split time between CO and PA and while coming to PA, we became quite sick. When we landed we were concerned as we planned to stay with my 80 yr old mother who has health issues. We went to st Clair hospital urgent care directly from the airport, only to be redirected to the hospital as there were ‘no appointments available.’ We went to the ER and waited for two hours before we could be seen. When called, we were initially separated, but eventually all brought to the same room to be seen by Dr Ralph Falbo. At first he seemed pleasant, but then made condescending remarks like ‘you look like smart people’ implying that we should not have come there. He eluded to calling in prescriptions, but never did. I’m back to Thailand, and just received the bill. The hospital billed my insurance over $10k to be belittled by an arrogant pr!ck who did nothing for us. The billing, for three patients with the same symptoms seen by the same Dr in the same room was inconsistent. These people are criminals. I will be fighting the bills and look forward to visiting the burgh again.

I was in this hospital for back surgery ten years ago, and again two years ago. Ten years ago, I had the most wonderful care, the beds were comfortable, and the staff could not do enough. In 2022 it was horrible, and I left way sooner than I should have. Beds were horrible. Like hammocks. I was in a triple room, there was a dementia patient that screamed and banged all night. Surgeries were not separated from demential patients, so no one got rest. I used to love this hospital. Now, I would be afraid to go there again.
