Most of the staff are pleasant. However, there are a few that are verbally abusive. My mother was crying that she wanted to go home after I told her a family member passed away. Meanwhile, staff members were mocking her crying. My brother also had throat cancer and lost his voice. Once again the same staff member was mocking him. I reported this to management but they did nothing. She still works at this facility. Be VERY CAUTIOUS of the 1st floor nursing unit. Please call the Department of Aging and the licensing board. Some of these people shouldn't be allowed in healthcare.

I’m discharging from Spruce Manor Monday January 13th 2025… To a person the facility has been top notch… The medical staff is Great the CNA’s are wonderful & the therapist’s are excellent… I am grateful to everyone…

This is the broken bed they had my grandmother sleeping in until her therapist got on them about changing it! The hallways smell like urine and the staff is rude and looks confused most of the time.. I got my grandmother right out of this place. It’s not safe for these elderly people and if you love your loved ones keep them away from here. I couldn’t sleep, worrying about my grandmother while she was in here.

I was discharged from the Reading Hospital to Spruce Manor in April for supervised nursing care and rehabilitation. My 5-star rating reflects the leadership, rehab therapy, nursing, and other services provided.

Jason and his leadership team are compassionate, engaged, accessible, and responsive. ‘Meetings’ were scheduled early in my stay and concerns quickly addressed.

This is my first experience with rehabilitation services. From the moment I entered the facility, the therapists began assessing my capabilities and preparing to meet my needs. Therapy began the next business day with exercises tailored to address my physical limitations. I began seeing tangible improvements within weeks.

Nurses and staff are warm and compassionate caregivers who are knowledgeable and supportive. Nursing supervisors are highly effective.

Meal services and food quality are highly impressive. Meal times and meal deliveries are consistent and well-coordinated with appointment schedules. Food quality exceeds my expectations. I’ve been ready for seconds many times.

Other services and activities also impress. The facility takes great care in providing access to needed services and in promoting a community that serves diverse interests.

Spruce Manor is a fantastic facility for yourself or your loved ones. As a Registered Nurse with much experience in this type of facility I can honestly say it excels in every single way. The staff is fantastic and caring. The management is available for any concerns or questions and the food is top notch. The activities for the patients and residents are fantastic and varied. Social activities and trips are planned with care and it truly uplifts the spirit of patients. The physical and occupational therapists are top notch. If your family needs to stay in a facility like this I would recommended Spruce Manor above all others.

Have been with Spruce for many years. Our nursing team is very dedicated , the Residents are cared for with dignity and respect .
I bring my dog in for visits , the residents and staff get a kick out of “Gus”. He is somewhat of a celebrity at Spruce.
For great care , fantastic rehabilitation from our therapy department and friendly staff , spruce is the place to be.

My aunt was in this facility and was able to return home after her stay. She was not in good shape when she got there but is now able to be back at home with her family. She talks about how nice the staff were and how helpful everyone was. Our family got a call from someone in admissions prior to her arriving to see if we had any questions which we also thought was nice. We recommend this facility!

My Aunt just recently transitioned here for long term care. Communication has been good and any time I go in to visit my aunt she is being social and happy. The facility is very clean.
