My elderly father was a rehab center patient and then a resident of the skilled nursing section of South Hampton. I visited him frequently and was always greeted by cheerful, caring and helpful staff. Even though short-staffed, the employees had good morale. This is a good indicator of a well-run, ethical facility. Dad received good, compassionate care at South Hampton. I am grateful and thankful!

Do not put your family member here. The food is absolutely atrocious. I will concede that the actual rehabilitation staff is great, but I don't think they work directly for the facility. When you move in, fable, ask you to write the name of your family member in all clothing and keep a list that disappears. I did what they said, and they lost multiple of my mother's garments and even had me go to their laundry room myself. The icing on the cake, when they had me sign the paperwork to check my family member out, apparently they handed me a stack of patient information. I had no idea until they called me. Because I hadn't looked at my copies.. They started calling me to bring it back as they had given me private medical records. What kind of record? How about who is on hospice? How about who needs what medication at what time? How about contact information and names of additional family members? I have reported the facility to every agency I can think of. Fg you value your family members care and privacy do, not use the facility.. I hope the state and federal government follow up immediately with this extrbeem HIPPA breach

I love South Hampton NRC! As a nurse, I know that every facility has its quirks & issues. None are perfect. However, my mother has been at the facility for almost three years now. It doesn’t smell, it’s not dirty and I love their attentiveness at keeping me informed concerning her. The staff - nurses, direct care givers, receptionist, activities, dietary, social services and the administrative staff are always there to address questions and concerns. And, they rectify concerns quickly.

The nursing staff is stable. All facilities usually have direct care issues. I trained CNAs for 3 years. And, it takes a special individual who wants to provide care to others. My motto in class was, “treat the residents how you or your loved one should be treated. If you are just in it for the job or money, you won’t stay.”

Thank you South Hampton for being there!

My dad needed rehab to help him strengthen his legs for walking. What a positive difference South Hampton made!! He is walking better than he has in the past 4 months!
Also. The CNAs, nurses, staff, Katrina….they were beyond kind and helpful to Dad…. who can be difficult, especially in the evenings (sundowning). And, I just got a call from Katrina to see how Dad is doing in his new home. I am so thankful for these wonderful folks!!!

After 12 years of caring for my parents with dementia, and graduating through a total of seven facilities after we could no longer care for them at home, we ended up in South Hampton during COVID. I am so very grateful that this was our final facility, because it was - hands-down - the best we've ever experienced. Having limited access to our Dad during COVID was unsettling, but the professionalism, communication and care was absolutely outstanding. You could tell the caregivers are devoted to their patients there. They recognized the person, and treat patients like family. And to top off the care, the facility is newly remodeled and beautiful. I'd recommend South Hampton to anyone at that point in their care journey.

I can not begin to put into words what South Hampton has meant to me. My mother has been in some type of facility for the past several years, so I have a lot of experience at my disposal when rating a health care center. I have seen my mother neglected, in pain, and dirty at other places along the way, but NEVER at South Hampton. Their front line workers ( rn’s, cna’s, etc...) have the necessary loving and caring attitude to handle someone who simply can’t do things for themselves. From the Administrator on, they have all been very helpful to me along the way. I am able to sleep at night because of South Hampton. Also, my father has been there for short stays and rehab, and he too has been treated very, very well. I just feel so fortunate to have found this place and wanted to share with anyone who may be looking for a place to help them with the people they love.

I Worked very closely with the staff and administration at this facility. They were caring and responsive to all my requests in caring for my mom. There were some hiccups as there always will be in any health facility. I was always notified of problems and my concerns were addressed. I found most of the staff passionate and diligent. I'm glad my mom spent her last days there. She was happy and peaceful. The key for me was staying involved in her care.
Thank you guys for taking great care of my mom and even better care of me when things got tuff.
