When I went to Select Therapy for outpatient PT following hip replacement surgery, I was fortunate to be assigned to John Donovan and benefited from his long experience in this field. His knowledge of anatomy and mechanics and his ability to explain these to me was impressive. He guided me through a progression of strengthening exercises, focusing on correct execution, and brought me to a good recovery at discharge. I have now had a hip replacement on the opposite hip, am not yet in outpatient PT, but strength in the previously operated leg has held, and recovery from this second surgery has been more rapid. I look forward beginning outpatient PT with John next week for work related to my most recent hip surgery.

John Donovan, PT has helped reduce the pain and increase the mobility in my injured rotator cuff . John displays a wealth of knowledge that he shares in everyday terms, helping me to understand what's going on in my shoulder. This really helps me to effectively focus my efforts during the exercises, both during our sessions and at home. I also appreciate John's calm, comforting demeanor. I had an excellent experience at Select Physical Therapy. The therapists were kind, patient, and knowledgeable. The intake and assessment session was thorough and clear.

To build on what I learned in my session, I was given great homework exercises and handouts. And after my visit, I received online videos showing how to do each exercise.

Everything about Select Physical Therapy was most professional - from the cleanliness of the facility to the efficiency of the administrators. I'd give everyone on the staff an A+ !! 🙂

Jon and the other physical therapists have an amazing wealth of knowledge about how the body works. They were so helpful in identifying what was causing my neck pain and gave me the appropriate exercises to build strength in ways that support proper alignment. They showed real empathy for my pain and really took the time needed for a proper assessment and treatment. It takes time to heal and each day I’m getting better with their support.

During this time of extreme uncertainty and devision in our nation, something that a patient at Select Physical Therapy in Corte Madera can be certain of is the unification of this team in providing optimal care! From the first scheduling call with Dana, to each session with John, Justin, Tievoli, & Sam, my physical therapy has become a place of refuge and enjoyment. The team is delightful: friendly, knowledgeable, sympathetic, and truly dedicated to each patient's recovery! I have multiple areas of constant pain and am healing from an ACL reconstruction in preparation for a hip replacement surgery next year. Each session begins with a verbal check-in, followed by a hands-on evaluation and tailored exercises targeted to optimize healing. No lie, some days are much harder than others but each exercise is in service of full-recovery and is made available online through a customized patient portal for continued treatment at home. (Hard-copy printouts are also available.) And for those concerned about Covid-19 contagion, the mask-wearing staff checks each person's temperature upon entering the office and there is continual sanitization of the tables, equipment, and therapy tools. Though this office is modestly sized, there is ample room for social distancing from other patients, enabling big recovery and top-notch quality of care!

There’s a dedicated group of true professionals at Select PT. Upon reading my prescription, both Kevin & Frank listened attentively to my concerns & questions. In turn they asked me all the questions relevant to my shoulder & back. They work diligently & carefully with me.
