I had my first appointment with Dr. Ta yesterday. Without question, this was the most thorough, informative, and interesting eye appointment I've ever had. Dr. Ta was so helpful in explaining very detailed information, in a way I could easily understand. Will absolutely be going back from here on out. Thank you again!

The doctor was kind and seemed passionate about eye health, but the front desk staff were unwelcoming upon arrival. They committed to contacting me the week following my appointment with trial contacts, however I never received any communication. When I called to ask, the woman told me they left a voicemail, but when I said I did not have a voicemail, she said it was a text, before landing on maybe it was an email. It seems they need to improve their documentation and follow through, or beef up their internal system to best support their patients. Because of this, I will likely seek out other care in the future.

So happy with the care I received here. Used to go to Eyemart Express on Odana as that's where my parents took me as a child, but I was tremendously unimpressed with their service over the past several years (calling me by the wrong name, making it difficult to get replacement glasses when my only pair broke, etc)

Dr Samuelson really seems to find joy in his work and I felt not only listened to, but also as though the doctor wanted to make sure I understood everything we discussed and he genuinely cared about the health and comfort of my eyes. I would absolutely recommend this clinic

Restored my faith in Eyecare.

Before coming to Samuelson, I had been to several other Eyecare establishments, including Dean and another on Odana Road in Madison. I was never happy with the glasses I got, and needed several different pairs to take care of daily tasks (reading music, using a computer, normal everyday vision, and reading).

It was so bad that I asked Dr. Samuelson if the had checked for cataracts during my visit (she assured me that they had, and that mine were minor). I'm afraid I asked a lot of questions because of my previous dissatisfaction with the glasses I had received from the other providers. Dr. Samuelson answered all my questions politely, and satisfied my paranoia.

After my exam, I selected my frames and Dr Samuelson's assistant helped with the fitting. She really seemed competent (Dang it, I wish I was better remembering names--we knew each other socially). I was particularly struck when she had me put on the clear frames and look directly at her while she observed my eye through a magnifying lens. She then used a dry erase marker to put a dot on each lens of the demo glasses and asked me if I could see it. I replied that I could not, and she explained to me that the procedure gave her the position of my optic nerve connection, which was useful in determining where the borders of my progressive lenses should be located.

I guess it worked, because now I see pretty well with one pair of glasses. I might still get a dedicated pair for reading music, but otherwise, the pair I got from Samuelson works just fine.

I thought I was going blind as I got older. It turns out I just needed an appointment with a good optometrist and her competent staff.

I have been to many eye doctors in my lifelong eye sight issues, but Dr. Ta was the very first to completely and patiently explain things. This was the most enjoyable visit I have ever had. ❤ I will absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone.

I scratched my eye and needed to get in for a visit ASAP. I called at 9am to see if they could squeeze me in and I was in by 10:30 that day and out in 20 minutes. I was thoroughly checked out, given antibiotic drops and sent on my way. Super professional, courteous and fast. Highly recommend!

Horrible service. They won't ok prescription for contacts, if you try to buy them from 800-contacts. The contact company had problems because they wouldn't even call them back.
