Where do I start? I should have started with all your negative reviews, and I would not be writing this. We finally got my grandmother into the Robertsdale Rehab facility after a 10-day stay in the hospital. She had intensive surgery on her bladder with tumors removed as well as blood clots in her lungs, she also has dementia.

This facility was the biggest joke, and I cannot comprehend why your staff does not have the tiniest bit of compassion for the elderly. I would hate to know they would treat their loved ones this way.

The staff plays and spins in their office chairs while the emergency assistance buttons are going off in all rooms and patients are begging for help. This is especially true for the evening staff as I was there to witness it almost daily for the 6 days we had grandmother there. My mother was there to witness the daytime shift and as I was told not much better.

The staff doesn’t even read the patient charts as they do not know that a dementia patient does not eat on their own and does not have a voice. Food was wheeled in and left to sit with the patient. We had to be present daily to make sure that she got the proper nutrients as the food wasn’t edible and cold.

Pills were found in my grandmother’s bed as the nurse didn’t watch her swallow them, again we are dealing with a dementia patient. The nurse quickly and discreetly threw them away as she didn’t want to get reprimanded for not paying attention.

The most dangerous situation we dealt with was finding my grandmother slumped over in a wheelchair for 4 plus hours on a couple of occasions in a corner of the facility. Again, she had intensive bladder surgery and blood clots on her lungs so she should NOT be left that long in that position.

My mother quickly decided to take her out of Robertsdale Rehab and bring her home after she had found her for the second time slumped over in a corner. The staff is always combative when asked about these situations as if they are aware, but do NOT care and do not question their actions.

My grandmother experienced a rapid decline in your facility. Now we are dealing with an even shorter life span with her. I hope you look at the staff you have at Robertsdale Rehab and reevaluate whether they should be in the positions they hold. I will never recommend your facility to anyone who cares about their family members or friends.

Would not put anyone in this facility. Before I start I will say, I don't live in the area and would call there to check on her and they made it sound like everything was good. I had other family members that would go check on her and when she would say something it just got dismissed
I know someone that went into this for rehab after a brief hospitalization. She came out of this in WORSE shape than she went in. Was there for 20 days. Took us 2 months to get her to be able to be somewhat pain free! She had almost every rib in her broken due to falls. She was so brusied up and had so many skin tares it took over 6 weeks to get her skin feeling and looking better. Bathing staff were awful to her. She was in so much pain and the staff tossed her around like a rag doll and wanted to know why she kept crying? It was from her having broken ribs and they never took her to the hospital and had any scans down they did have one exray done but she needed to have a CT scan which didn't happen. Oh, and the whole reason she went there was for rehab.... that didn't even come close to happening.

I am sharing review from a patient who I just spoke whom transfered from Robertsdale facility. She says the nurses and staff "talk down to residents and patients" there. My personal opinion on that is some of the staff working there must have never known what it's like to have a broken body part or chronic health condition such as I myself whom work in health care as well. Sad that a patient would feel that way when they are supposed to be receiving the utmost care. And no this patient was not demented she was in her right mind , she just had a broken body part.

I wouldn't recommend in good conscience. This facility discrminates against certain types of healthcare workers.

My good and loving Husband, Father and Friend passed away, after suffering from heart failure. I’m not saying they caused it, however, they were responsible for his rehabilitation. The problem was that they weren’t giving him any attention in that arena because they didn’t have the staff to carry it out. He also did not have access to a telephone and many other things. It appears that they were argumentative with him when he asked for any assistance at all and would walk away and he would not see them for hours at a time. The girls they hired were not much interested in even calling the nurse to answer his questions. I think some one in administration should vet whoever applies for a job here and keep watching them not just rely on the overworked nurses only, to report any mistakes or surliness. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone. He eventually had a critical heart attack and was sent to the hospital. After a 5-6 days he was sent home to hospice care. And passed three days later. It turns out he contracted a kidney infection and no one would listen to him or me about his complaints. The dr. at Foley found it and treated it, but it was too late.

Administrator, head nurse and therapist were great. Most of the other staff were not caring and had impatient attitude. Food was often terrible- example the french fries were hard as rock, not even cooked. The two week quarantine policy is a total waste of rehab time. Despite having proof of vaccination, plus being tested before and during stay, was in quarantine, therefore very limited physical therapy (which was the point of being there!) Medications were not given in a timely manner. I was tempted to move my mom to another facility but decided this was the devil we knew and didn't want to get in a worse facility. After two days of nausea with little concern by the staff, I took her out. Better off having your loved one home and caring for them yourself. I don't understand why some people are in a health care industry if they don't actually care about people.

Michelle and Everlene are so wonderful in the activities department! They truly have a love for each of the residents and take their job very serious. My mother-in-law was a resident here for several years and we were so pleased with the care she received. I am looking forward to being able to assist the activities department and the residents as much as I am able in the future. ?✝️✝️

So far so good. My mom has been here 2 days. I heard that all nursing homes are the same around here but this is not as bad as expected. No smells, nice nurses. We are only keeping her here a few weeks and I hope it will be as smooth as it has been so far.
