Have to say that I was the one that lucked out when my wife recommended this location randomly from looking online. I enrolled in the full guard card, exposed firearms, taser, baton, and pepper spray course. The instructors were informative, kind, paitent, and worked hands on with every signle person in every session I had.
The information I learned will save not just my life, but maybe even the life of another in a dangerous situation. I cannot recommend them enough.

I got to give shout out to Mr. Aguila, Mr.Martin, C/Krystal and Mr.Joseph!!! Worth every penny.

Ive had a guard card for over 11 years and finally decided to get my exposed firearm permit. Came here through a friend referral. Class was thorough, instructors stern and focused on safety, and down to earth. I really enjoyed that they asked who was comfortable around weapons and this way they could focus more on those that didn’t have much firearm experience.

Disappointing Experience with the Public Safety Institute’s Gun Permit Process

I recently went through the process of applying for a firearms permit through the Public Safety Institute, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The handling of my application was not only inefficient but also frustratingly careless.

To start, when I received my firearms permit paperwork, it was only a half-printed copy—meaning a significant portion of the document was cut off. Naturally, I asked for a complete copy, expecting them to correct the mistake. However, I was told that the incomplete document was fine and that a new copy wasn’t necessary. This response struck me as lazy and dismissive, as it’s a basic expectation for any legal paperwork to be printed properly and fully.

As a result of their refusal to provide me with a correct copy, the processing of my application was delayed. It ended up taking an extra month beyond the date when my permit should have been completed. I had to follow up multiple times, both by phone and email, to inquire about the status of my application. It wasn’t until I took these extra steps that my permit was finally approved.

Overall, the Public Safety Institute’s lack of attention to detail and their disorganized approach caused unnecessary delays and frustration. A process that should have been straightforward ended up becoming a major inconvenience. If you're considering applying for a permit here, I strongly advise you to double-check every document you receive and be prepared to follow up on any issues yourself, as their customer service and internal processes leave much to be desired.

I would refer everyone who is looking for this class to become an armed gaurd or just to brush up on safety practices using a gun!

Both instructors, Mr. Aguilar, and Mr. Martin or professionals in what they do, they teach so that we can learn and be safe using a gun! They’re very patient and will answer any and all questions that you may have! So ask!!
