Reviews of Providence ExpressCare - Eagle River

We went in for respiratory infections and vaccines. Cynthia at the front desk was kind, helpful, and very patient with my children, who were not excited to be there. We have seen several providers there now, and all have been kind and reasonable. We were able to get a same-day appointment when our usual clinic did not have openings. This was very convenient and we will come back if we need to. Appreciate having this office in Eagle River.

Unfortunately I checked though my insurance instead of these reviews as now I am in the same boat as a majority of these people with one star reviews. This is one of the only places in Eagle River open on a Saturday and I had been there before the year before with no issues. I was told by the front desk they were in network with my insurance, asked if the nurse was in network and was told I only owed my co-pay. Well here I am, with a $150 surgery fee for 3 stitches and the "follow-up" visit that was just removing those stitches: $348.00 after being assured on both visits that the first visit copay covered both visits. I am adamant this level of deception is what is making people avoid going to the doctors and dying because no one is honest about the charges. I pray one day the medical industry will remember that we are people, seeking help and care for our health instead of another pawn to feed off of while they are in a vulnerable position. Direct from their website: "Our five core values of Compassion, Dignity, Excellence, Justice and Integrity are the guiding principles for everything we do."... Shame on you.

I had the best experience!!!
Cynthia at the front desk was friendly and so helpful. Her cheerful disposition was refreshing!
They accept Tricare for dependents. If you are active duty you can get an authorization from the nurse advice line to be seen here. Thank you for your service!
They answered all my questions and I learned so much. If I need care again I will be coming back here.
Julie my RN was so sweet and went above and beyond to address my needs! Her questions helped pinpoint the best possible solution.
I’m so thankful for this team, they know how to help.
If you’re reading this feel better soon!
Side note: they also do sports physicals for kids here with insurance it’s only $50
Update: Went back a second time for care related to something else. The team was so sweet. The RN Tara really took care of me. The team is so wonderful!
I’m so thankful!

InSANELY EXPENSIVE! $516 for 20 minutes! Who gets paid over $1000/hr!!? ...and I didn't even see a doctor!! As an example, I'll give you the breakdown for strep throat, which is what I went in for.
Strep Probe: $69
Dex sodium phosphate injection: $20
Penicillin pills (at pharmacy): can't remember but probably ~$10-20
Office Outpatient Visit (20min): $516!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Total bill was over $550!!
Back in Colorado, an urgent care visit was roughly $25-60 if you were sick, but definitely not over $100!... and this one billed for $516 for only 20min by a PA!!!
I even asked for them to take it to a review board and they said they did, and still said no adjustment!! SO GREEDY!!
Providence ExpressCare has sadly fallen into what many businesses have become, American Greed. This is a business (not a care center) who lusts for money over all things. If you're looking for urgent care or express care, go elsewhere!

I am retired heath care professional. The patient should be offered the choice of practitioner; i,e, nurse, PA, physician. I did, however, not disagree with the diagnosis. My major complaint is on checkout when I specifically questioned if billing insurance information was needed, I was told NO because all was in the Providence system. Why did I receive a bill? With coverage of two major insurers, I should not have received a billing. Double dipping? As always, Providence will continue to illicitly obtain monetary procurements as they have for decades. Nothing good regarding billing - underlying GREED.

This place is a scam, I did zero tests, I went in just to get my lungs listened too. I was there for 10 minutes and they charged me $516. That’s completely unacceptable business practice. Do not go here.

Horrible. The front desk woman could have cared less about what I was trying to tell her. Also a 140 fee just to get seen is outrageous.
