There is a lot of great and caring staff from every department, but not all of them. I'm grateful for the good techs, nurses, and counselors.

Before intake, I was told that my dietary restrictions would be accommodated. This was false for the week I spent there.

The plumbing didn't work and housekeeping refused to clean rooms at times. Plumbing and heating issues were brushed off when complaints were made and showering and bathroom facilities were mostly out of order.

They decided the laundry detergent I bought and packed should be for communal use, but only one washing machine was working at a time anyways.

I passed out from malnutrition and left in an ambulance and they didn't notify either of my emergency contacts.

When I returned from my overnight hospital stay to check on my belongings, less than 24 hours later, a woman said that I had to leave and was not a member of the community. I was given my stuff and didn't get any kind of discharge paperwork. This place was paid $3,800 to not feed me and kick me out when my body gave up.

PMRC is a great place to get help. They are there to help you once you walk in those doors till you leave and even after. The staff, nurses, techs are amazing. So compassionate, caring and always willing to listen. Also, the food is amazing and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of help.

I have gone to this treatment facility at least 4 times. I stayed in Rockcrest for 4 months at one point too. I absolutely loved PMRC, the staff was amazing in every aspect. The cooks were great, the techs were extremely nice and supportive, and the counselors there were invested in their patients. I seriously recommend going to PMRC. There's a reason I always went back when I needed help in my recovery. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. I currently have 4 years clean and I wouldn't be here without the people at PMRC! Not to mention, the whole place let's you hang outside in the fresh air and enjoy the nature and animals around you. Extremely helpful for me compared to other places that basically keep you cooped up inside all day 🙂

The reviews of poor experiences should not reflect solely on the facility. Remember we all went here to get better. The program works if you work it.
I got better because I wanted to be there. I wanted to only have it be my one and only rehab. There are people out there that simply just don’t put the effort in and then wanna blame the facility and it’s not their fault.
I’m proof of that. I am a better individual because I was at PMRC

My experience at PMRC was fabulous. The staff were some of the most caring and compassionate individuals. The food was delicious and just what people in early recovery need to start nourishing their bodies back to health. The scenery at PMRC was so beautiful and peaceful as well and all the buildings were clean and cozy. Between the regular group meetings and one on one sessions with counselors I felt that they had given me great tools to help me in my recovery.

I was a client there. Today I was kicked out based on lies fabricated by Rich, 2nd shift tech. A client was carrying a lot of groceries, a client asked me for a pack of smokes, I had my headphones on and thought he asked me to grab a bag of groceries, so I went inside the office, got my meds, and came out and grabbed a bag of groceries which I thought was his, brought it home, set it on the counter in the kitchen and went to bed. 30 minutes later Rich came in my room and asked if I took a bag, sleepily confused I said no. He returned 30 minutes later and said he saw me take a bag from the office porch on camera, he then asked if I had the groceries in my room, I replied no and they were welcome to search. They did not conduct a room search. I then stated I grabbed the bag for another housemate after he asked me to grab one, he went and got the other clients and the client stated he asked me for a pack. At that time I realized I had mistakenly grabbed another persons bag and went to the kitchen where I left it, followed by a tech named Tim. I handed it to him IN THE KITCHEN WHERE IT WAS LEFT, and apologized for the mistake. At that time I thought the incident was handled. Later that night rich wrote a report stating he found the items in my closet underneath a pile of clothes. This morning I was administratively discharged for theft based on Riches false report.
These people are committing fraud on a daily basis. The food is terrible, houses are filthy and the groups are a joke. DO NOT GO THERE. IF YOU ARE AN ADDICT IN NEED IF HELP DO NOT GO THERE YOUR SOBRIETY WILL BE IN JEOPARDY. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT..THEY SET PEOPLE UP AND LIE IN REPORTS ALL THE TIME.

I showed up to PMRC broken. Emotionally, psychologically, & spiritually compromised. I left there for their PHP feeling better than I did in the past 15 years. During my time there I paid attention & did not cause any drama. I read books & hung out with amazing peers. Yes, some dumb things happened. You are dealing with the human condition. If you show up with the intention of getting better, you will get better. Your recovery is in your hands. The food is good, you’ll get your meds, you’ll do your groups, & if you’re lucky you’ll meet some amazing people. I still talk to people who were there with me.

My name is Zack, and I'm an alcoholic. PMRC saved my life. There's no other way to explain it. From the counselors to the people in the rooms in the Poconos, they all had a hand in my recovery. I'm now 6 years and 11 days sober. If you're thinking about bettering your life from addiction and don't know where to start, PMRC will guide you to that better life.
