Unfortunately, I cannot recommend OC Functional Medicine, run by Dr. Bita Badakhshan.

When I first arrived, I was excited to see someone known for a holistic approach to healthcare. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. Dr. Bita, as she prefers to be called, created a stressful atmosphere by rudely interrupting and insisting that the person assisting me stop helping and follow her. It was clear that this abrupt behavior unsettled everyone in the room.

Once I was in the patient room, another doctor began questioning me about issues completely unrelated to the reason I was there. In fact, she never once asked me why I had come to see the doctor. Despite my attempts to inform her that I had emailed extensive documentation, including my list of medications, she continued down her own path, ignoring my input and asking unrelated questions.

Dr. Bita entered next and appeared to also ignore most of my medical history. She ordered repetitive lab tests, despite already having recent results.

When I tried to explain that I had already provided all the necessary lab reports, Dr. Bita’s response was dismissive. She stated that she has a waiting list and can "pick and choose" her patients, adding that she only works with those who are "compliant." I was left speechless by her attitude.

Dr. Bita then quickly examined me and pushed a 21-day vegan diet cleanse that she sells. When I asked about the source of protein, the other doctor said "rice." After researching the cleanse on Dr. Bita's website, I discovered that the primary protein source was pea protein—an ingredient I’m allergic to.

She also recommended EBO2 therapy, costing $3,200, claiming it would improve my kidney function by 20 points. After researching, I found that this therapy could trigger a major flare-up of my inflammatory disease and is not suitable for my condition.

Had Dr. Bita taken the time to truly listen to me, review my medical history, and consider my lab work, she would have realized this. Instead, it felt like she had an agenda to push products and treatments, without fully understanding my individual health needs.

Overall, I felt disrespected and unheard by both doctors. I was rushed through the appointment and pushed into treatments that could have major consequences for my health, all while my medical history and concerns were ignored.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Bita Badakhshan or her practice.

I’ve been seeing Dr Bita for several years. She helped me to shrink a growth in my kidney that had undefined borders and is now almost gone. I had BBL done in February to help with Rosacea and some sun damage on my face. Dr Bita was amazing and she explained everything at every step, I felt so comfortable and had minimal downtime after. When it comes to trusting a doctor with your health- Dr. Bita is the best! I have been with Dr. Bita many years as a breast cancer patient. She loves her patients and works tirelessly to get to the root of health issues. She is a brilliant medical doctor with extensive knowledge in integrative and functional medicine. Her expertise and care is unmatched. Her new office is amazing! You will find her staff kind, personable and hardworking. As with all new offices there are glitches with billing, insurance etc. - but that has all been fixed. Dr. Bita is well on her way to being the most sought out doctor in the OC. I highly recommend her!

Amazing experience with Dr.Bita! I cannot recommend Dr. Bita highly enough. She is an exceptional doctor who combines deep medical knowledge with a genuine care for her patients. She listens to all my concerns and has been able to help cure my chronic fatigue and fight Epstein Barr virus. I had BBL and MOXI laser done with Dr Bita twice. My first treatment was in January and my second treatment last week; I have already noticed amazing improvement in my neck and face. I love Dr Bita and the entire staff at OC FUNCTIONAL MEDICAL CENTER!!! I’ve been a patient of Dr Bita for the past 3 months. I had extremely elevated inflammation which was a total shock to me. After 3 months of Dr Bita’s treatment and recommendations including iv vitamin c, hyperbaric oxygen, and multiple supplements my inflammation has gone away!!! I have never received such a high quality of care from any Doctor in my life. I will definitely be a patient of Dr Bita for the rest of my life. I had BBL treatment with Dr. Bita and the entire experience and results were amazing!!! She explained everything step by step and I had no pain during or after the procedure. The outcome after only one treatment was incredible. I had significant reduction of small vessels around my nose and the hyperpigmentation on my face significantly reduced after one treatment.
I am definitely going back for more treatments and can’t wait to try other treatments that she has to offer.
