My parents were moved in to The Gardens at Arkanshire in early summer of 2014 due to rapidly advancing vascular dementia. Shortly thereafter I contracted the services of NAPS for proper medical distribution to my mother and their dog. The online presence of NAPS LLC sites it as being a nursing agency, so I just assumed that they were licensed. Over the 2 plus years that they resided in the facility more meds were prescribed and needed distribution to my mother and father. The last 6 months of their stay the management of NAPS continued to insist that my father be put on meds to control his moods/attitude. I took him to the doctor several times under her suggestion. She also pushed for 12 hour care and assistance for my mother. I agreed with her since I could not be there to perform this task myself. I would go by there at least 2 times a week, sometimes more to check in on them, visit, do laundry, help my mother bathe, etc. Just before they were moved to North Hills Lifecare, the management had a habit of calling or texting me daily about all kinds of non-sense that they were getting paid to handle. I gave her notice that they were going to be moving to another facility and she pulled nursing care at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday evening just days afterward. She assured me that she would stay with them until I arrived. It is approximately a 20 minute drive. When I arrived they were alone and my father had fallen in the floor and could not get up. It is my belief that they may be representing as a nursing agency and has never had or applied for a license to practice. Upon further research I also found that the principal, Ms. Napier, has been in trouble with the law for various reasons and was just released from probation shortly before my parents were moved here. Part of the conditions of her probation was that she was not to have possession of any prescription drugs that did not belong to her. She is now running a business that requires her to do so.
