I gotta say, it’s been a year since I’ve been seen here and moved, but Dr. Michael Myers legit took me from barely being able to walk say 50 yards and my Achilles Tendons were on fire to being able go about my day without hardly if any pain. I’ve been in several other physical therapy places where I live now, and the improvements I made at Myers Physical Therapy are far superior than anything else I’ve done. I couldn’t recommend this place more, 5 out of 5 stars.

Regretfully, I have concluded that I must give this place a bad review and, reluctantly, I will pay the invoices I have received, though I received zero value for the money I’m spending. If you want to skip the rest of the review, go straight to Equinox Physical Therapy where I received excellent care, clear communications, punctuality, and I am recovering well.

I was reluctant to return after my first visit. The seemingly inexperienced PT laughed when I could not hold a position (because it hurt, because I was injured) and made fun of my gym. At the time, I brushed it off because I was hopeful that I was starting on the path to recovery but after the appointment it just felt disingenuous. I was injured, I needed help, this had been setting me back and the PT just seemed callous. Also, my friends can make fun of my Planet Fitness membership, I can make fun of it, and you, the reader, can make fun of it, lol! Pro tip for the PT: when your client says they are going to the gym, ANY GYM, try something like, “excellent, you’re working out, that’s a good start.”

Reluctantly, I did return for a second appointment. I arrived 5 minutes early but, at 9 am, my appointed time, the owner got up from the front desk, walked into the room where my PT was presumably waiting for me and closed the door. Nearly 20 minutes later, I asked the two women at the desk if I should come back another time. One went into the room and a few minutes later, the owner came out, said nothing. She just glared at me.

The PT said nothing about starting 25 minutes late but asked, “what stretch did I give you last week”? (No notes?). We were starting over. She was clearly mad that I broke up the morning meeting that was impromptu at the same time as my appointment but I had appointments too. This is not a hospital, there’s no emergency. So, she gave me one stretch and sent me packing at the normal end time. Note: I was later charged $490 for this 30 minute session where there were no manipulations, few questions, and a genuine sense of not caring at all. Remember, I was in pain. I came for help. When I left, it was glares all around. Absolutely the most unfriendly health care environment I have experienced. You can’t make stuff like this up.

No one wants to switch therapists. No one wants to waste money on intakes only to find bad care, but it felt so wrong that I decided I had to switch. I knew I would be eating that bill, but I was in a lot of pain. I asked around about other therapist and made a call. I found excellent care but a couple weeks later the bills came from Myers. $370 intake, $490 for the second session. When I checked in the first day, the owner checked my insurance and said the sessions would be $250 each because I had not met my deductible and I would be paying cash. When I got the bills I wrote an email telling her that this adds insult to injury because she lied or miscommunicated. Instead of responding that she might have miscommunicated, she referred my case to her out of state, never been to Fairbanks, office manager that sent me a letter that was quintessential insurance company trained “too bad” response and threatened to add on a $75 no show fee because the assistant at the front desk forgot to cancel all of my appointments. It’s not the amount of money, it’s the principle. Shall I go on?

No way. The only thing Fairbanks about this place is cold.

If your trying to find a place to get real help than keep reading my comment. I have had many problems physically, spiritual, and mentally. I have been to counselors, doctors, therapists, psychiatrists and others I can't think of right now or just don't know what they are called. Received MRI, CAT scans, medications, and more to solve my problems. I was neglected and poorly treated everywhere else I went and no one could ever tell me what was going on with my body or my mind. None of my issues have been fixed or resolved yet. I have been treated at Myers for a couple months now and I feel better than ever. Over here I am given in depth knowledge of my physical situation and how I can better myself. I now know what is causing all of my problems thanks to this warm and loving place. Everyone that works here are great! I love all of them because they are the best people you will find in Fairbanks. I always have a good time here because the staff are super friendly, caring and have a great sense of humor. This isn't your average physical therapy. This is way beyond that. Honestly if you want real help here it is. Come to Myers Physical Therapy! They are here to help! So come check it out and know the difference.

I have been to multiple Physical therapist over the past 20 years for my lower back and have had little to no positive results until now. This is the first PT that looked me over from foot to head and found the root causes of my issues. I would recommend them to anyone who needs Physical Therapy.

2 separate surgeries rehabbed by Elizabeth and she always made sure to take the very best care of me. Through education, support and strength training she motivated me to become a healthier more self aware person. To live my very best life as it were. ? I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
