Avoid Mt Morris. Despite filing no claims they increased my premium by 30% after my first year as a policy holder. They charge $25 to make an online premium payment calling it an “access fee.” They do not communicate in a timely manner and everyone I have interacted with has been very unfriendly.

What once was a great company failed us. Got a letter out of nowhere that all of our insurance policies were going to be ended and not renewed because my area is “too high risk.” We had some strong storms over the last couple years and I guess they won’t stand behind their policy holders and get through it with them. Mind you, I’ve never made a homeowners claim in the 6 years I’ve been with them. Always paid on time but in one fell swoop every policy I had (homeowners, auto, umbrella) is now being ended abruptly. Thanks Mt.Morris for showing me I’ve been a loyal, claim free policy holder.

I’d stay away from them if you have had any sort of strong storm in your area recently. By the time you get everything up and running I’m sure they’ll end it with a letter . Everything links together meaning I can’t have an auto or umbrella policy without a homeowners etc. there’s many other companies out there. Explore them. You’ll thank me later.

Just found out they are not renewing out Home and Auto coverage. Letter says due to the amount of claims paid in our area. Hmmm, non of them our claims. They sure do suck up the Automatic Payments right on time but then they have to pay and everyone regardless gets penalized. I have that gut feeling they are doing us a favor by not taking our money for nothing. I suspect this Company will fold soon and wither and die just like their attitude. Do I care?...NO!!

We love Mt. Morris. They have been very good to us. We have them for home owners and vehicle insurance. John Foster is very kind. When we hit a deer he said it happens and was glad no one was hurt. Who doesn't want that kind of reassurance from their provider! Do not believe the other revirlews here.

I have never had a worse experience in my life with an insurance company. They dropped us because of too many claims that all resulted from one claim. 1 claim a bad fire lead to more because they had to send an inspector out. They ask me to lie they gave no answers and gladly take my money every year to devalue my property at the end. They do not listen to question you ask simple minded stuck on one thing people. I have since landed with a better company and respected in the state of Wisconsin. I have better coverage and pay less, they cover my boats, utility vehicles, camper, three cars, my two dogs and my new building to replace the one I got raked thru my own hot coals on. I work hard for my things I want them cover. Also if you have a problem after hours you don't get an agent you get an awesome 3rd party help line that can not answer anything.
One star is the same concept of leaving your waitress a penny is she was no good at her JOB!

Got my auto policy renewal, and my annual rate went up $700.00 +/-. I found out through another agency that a claim made in 2021 was entered incorrectly by accident or intentionally by a risk management company. The actual amount of the claim was $68.58, not the $3518.00, which was showing at the risk management companies. Mt Morris didn't reduce our premium even after learning of the mistake. I'm being unfairly penalized because of illegitimate software, human error, or possibly underhanded business practices.
The best part is sending me a cancelation of policy due to non payment of the premium. This makes no sense as I called the Mt Morris office and informed them I would not be renewing the policy. Customer service here is terrible.

I own a small family dairy farm and I've been with Mount Morris for years. I have always been treated with respect and when I have a claim they are efficient and take care of everything quickly. If you're looking for an insurance company who isn't going to charge you for every little thing and is willing to work with you to customize a policy to fit your specific needs - this is the place! My agent, West Salem Insurance Agency - carries them and I highly recommend them also
