Doctors here are amazing. However, I asked for a referral for a CT scan after 1 month of my physical because of a suspected kidney stone flareup. 3 years earlier the hospital told me I still had a kidney stone after I passed one. After some back pain and urinating blood which came and went withing 20 minutes, I just wanted to confirm everything and what the next steps were. They basically told me to go to the hospital and pay the higher fee. They said sending a referral was bad medicine and they HAD to see me first and "lay hands on me to confirm". I asked them how they were going to rule out the kidney stone and she couldn't answer me. When I told them that my colleagues were telling me that their doctors do that same thing she said "Good for them". She said the only option was to schedule me 2 days later and then wait for insurance which could take up to 14 days. I didn't want to go straight to the ER due to it not being an emergency and the much higher cost but with 2 flare ups in less than a week I need some sort of confirmation. The doctors here are so caring, it just seems like they need staff to match.

I started going here and seeing Falkenstein around 23 years ago as a young adult fresh back from the military as a brand new Type 1 Diabetic. He has always treated me with respect and dignity no mater what my life entailed. Dr Erica is who I see now, for the last 6 ish years. She is fantastic as well. Nobody in that office ever rushes you. The listen and believe you. The do the research if needed. From the office staff to all the doctors this is a literal life saving place!

The PA is phenomenal however the office staff is absolutely ridiculous. They are rude, unprofessional, and constantly have an attitude. My first time there, I walked into the office, and could hear them talking about another patient loud enough for me and everyone else in the waiting room to hear. Very immature and not exactly how I expected a doctor office to be ran.

My primary care physician is with this office and I have the highest respect and appreciation of him. I have also seen a sports medicine doctor and another doctor - all 3 have excellent rapport skills and make me feel well cared for. The downfall is the front office of staff - rude, abrupt, and have actually blamed me when a pharmacy did not receive a prescription that they faxed. They have scolded me for utilizing my insurance's online prescription fulfillment when the delay was because they didn't check the box next to the applicable physician's name. And I have no success trying to call them during my lunch break, on multiple occasions I have called between 11 - 1 to receive no answer and no voicemail.

I’m really happy I chose this office as my new PCP since moving back to Pittsburgh. Both the nurse and PA I saw were so kind and I felt like they really took their time and listened to me as we walked through my medical history. I get pretty bad health anxiety but I felt really at ease here!

His office asst is nasty, unfriendly & unprofessional. After being injured in a car accident, she denied me an appt for 5 weeks & wouldnt even put me on cancellation list. So many unnecessary arguments with her. However the young girls in the office were always kind & helpful.
Dr Falkenstein used to listen to my concerns, but after this accident I was in, he wasn’t the same guy. Tried to tell him I had concussion, a thyroid issue, neck & back injury but he fluffed it off. Got diagnosed many months later elsewhere by other doctors for all of those things. I took it upon myself to see a specialist who would help with injuries (do injections, nerve block) & Dr. Falkensteins immediate response was to stop treating me with meds for pain so cut me off with no notice (but his office lady lied & tried to tell me he gave me notice). I went 5 weeks in the most horrific pain & not being able to get out of bed due to the car accident until I could get a pain management doctor to take over.
My specialists said any office asst who refused me an appt after car accident injuries & a doctor who missed many important diagnosis’s let alone left me in such horrible pain refusing to continue treating me until pain mgmt could take over were not worth going back to & urged me to find a much better doctor who cared about my well being.
