Dr. Peña is the best dentist I’ve ever had!! Very compassionate and caring. Very thoughtful and thorough in her work, explains every step to ensure the patient is comfortable at all times. The dentist that performed my root canal was also amazing, he handled everything with care. I didn’t feel a thing. The hygienist was also very caring and ensured I had no discomfort at all. Avoid this place if possible. My wife and I both used this office for a couple years mainly because we really liked the one hygienist we used. However, the office staff is extremely unprofessional (and outright rude over the phone) at times. There is rampant over billing and hidden charges over what my dental insurance covered. The wait times have also gotten ridiculous and they’ll just change your appointment that you scheduled months earlier because either the dentist or hygienist became unavailable. Do yourself a favor and choose a different dental office that actually cares about providing good customer service. There are many good dentists in Miami and dealing with this office isn’t worth the hassle.

Dra. Pena was excellent, particularly explaining everything to me with details and in a way that I understand and Ms. Natalia was very helpful when it comes to payment methods and insurance information. Front desk ladies are amazing and very kind. I highly recommend this office.

A total scam!!! They tell you that your insurance doesn't cover anything, even the basic stuff when it does, because they don't even send claims to your insurance company. They do mandatory checkup and x-ray when you say you don't want or need it!!! I refused to get it even if it was free, because it is a waste of time and x-rays are bad for you, why do it when you don't need it? They forced me anyway and bruused all my mouth taking 30 x-rays! The doctor made a huge list of things he would want to do, like extracting wisdom teeth that are deep in the skull for no reason!!! The cleaning and irrigation, crowns instead of fillings, and I just needed a filling replacement only. He refused to do fillings. Bill for the huge list of things would cost me $3600 and insurance doesn't cover any of that so I need to pay with my debit card or cash, otherwise they have extra fee charged for credit card. No installments, just lump sum upfront. I refused all of the services and just asked to do filling replacement that I came for. He agreed to one tiny filling only that took 3 seconds and $240 out of my pocket!!! A total scam!!! I heard so many complaints when I was in that office from other patients as well.

Through this letter, I would like to file a complaint about the mistreatment I experienced from Dr. Joseph Ryan Grider during my appointment yesterday. I went for an evaluation for a molar extraction, and the doctor treated me in a very dismissive and rude manner.

I arrived on time and was well attended by the receptionist. I then went to the waiting area and had my X-rays taken, and the assistant was very kind. She told me to wait for the doctor, and I mentioned that I needed to move my car because the parking time was expiring. I had already been waiting for an hour, which is why I needed to move it. She agreed, and I was back within five minutes. When I returned, the assistant informed me that the doctor had already been by but would be notified I was there. As soon as I arrived, the doctor showed up within two minutes.

When I greeted him, he seemed a bit grumpy, but I thought it was just his expression. He didn’t greet me properly and went straight to the point, asking what I needed. I explained that I was there for a molar extraction but wanted his evaluation. He interrupted me, saying it looked complicated from the X-rays and that he would refer me to another doctor because they couldn’t do it there. He then ended the conversation. I tried to ask more questions about what he meant by complicated and if he would examine the rest of my mouth, but he said he wasn’t a dentist, he was a surgeon, and asked if I spoke English. I told him I did, but he insisted I didn’t understand and asked the assistant to translate, which I declined. I understood everything; I just couldn’t understand why I had to pay $75 for a consultation that turned into a verdict that they couldn’t help me. He never explained why it was complicated or even examined my mouth. He seemed in a hurry, very rude, and even made a disrespectful comment about the receptionist’s education

I feel this shows a lack of humanity, and I think the clinic should improve its patient filtering process so people don’t waste their time and money. It’s not just the $75; it’s the poor treatment and the disrespect.

I would appreciate an apology from Dr. Joseph and a refund of the amount I paid.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, as this situation has caused me a lot of distress, and I believe such behavior needs to be addressed.
