I had a routine eye exam here, which is where I've always gone. When I made the appointment, they verified that none of my information, including insurance, has changed.

When I checked in, she asked for my ID and insurance card, which I handed over. Had the eye exam. Everything went great. Go to checkout and I'm told that my vision insurance is out of network, so I'll have to pay the full amount of the visit. That they stopped accepting my vision insurance.

I asked why at no point was I informed of this and they couldn't give me an answer.

I always check in network/out of network for new doctors. But I've previously gone here (and so has my son), so it didn't even cross my mind to make sure they still accepted our insurance.

If they're in network for you, great! The docs are awesome! But you never know when you'll suddenly become out of network and not be told until after your exam.

The office manager was helpful in providing me the information needed to file an out of network claim with my insurance. However, at no point did a receive an apology or a promise to better train her staff.

Dr. Jeff is awesome. He saw me, my 4 year old, and 9 year old. He was very thorough and super engaging. He talked on a level that would keep my children informed and comfortable. He was super awesome! I had my 8 week old with me during the exams. He was very understanding and made me feel comfortable the whole time while I had my eye holding my newborn as well as when I had to change her diaper and nurse her. The individual that helped me pick out my glasses was amazing too. She listened to what I liked and helped me find the perfect pair to fit my face. I wish I knew her name to give her a better recognition. Thank you to everyone at LA Family Eye Care!

Amy was wonderful the whole time! Lots of energy, positive, caring, actually listened to what I had to say and respected my wishes with what I wanted, and took it all into consideration. I will definitely make them and her our new eye dr! Thank you Amy. The eye technician was sweet, considerate, happy, helpful, she listened as well, neither one of them rushed us through, they took their time and gave us thorough exams.

Top tier service. Seriously. Everyone who works there is SO nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The doctor was kind and patient and answered all of my questions. She was incredible. Then the person who taught me how to use contacts and help me pick out my lenses was also patient and helpful. She gave me honest feedback on my lenses and helped me picked ones that look good on my face. Then once I was getting my lenses fitted they were helpful and patient and talked me through my options there. They even ran my insurance different ways to get me the most bang for my buck. It’s so hard to find this quality of service nowadays, I will definitely be continuing to do business here.
