La Cañada Care Center

La Cañada Care Center offers a clean, well-maintained environment with a genuinely warm and compassionate staff. The quality of the food is outstanding, adding to the overall comfort and care provided here. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a friendly smile by the receptionist, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere right from the start. I would confidently recommend La Cañada Care Center to any friends or family looking for excellent care for their loved ones.

Staff care was really good until the night before leaving. I was refused any pain meds. I was in so much pain and they knew it! That same morning and afternoon I was given relief. When I requested that same night, they refused. They Lied and said they had runout. No one had reordered any. Very inhumane. Also, being located at the end of a hall, by the time the food arrived, it was cold! Other than that…

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT! Choose this "care center" to send a loved one to. They absolutely do not care about the patients there. They do not check on the patients and do not care for their daily needs like take the trash out. My loved one is currently a patient there and in a wheelchair not able to get the simple things on his own, like ice or water. The staff does not bring the patients water or ice throughout the day. And if the patients request a refill it takes the staff hours to bring it. My loved one does not receives a shower every 5 or 6 days. The food is awful. Today the scrambled eggs looked like cold mashed potatoes and can't tell what if any meat was used to make what looks like a burrito. The food is always cold and resemblance of mushed dog food. The staff do not attend to the patients needs, my loved could hear a woman in side the center call for help for almost an hour, in his manual wheelchair, he went to try to find a staff member to help her, and finally found most if not all the n duty staff laughing and chatting in the breakroom, oblivious to the patient needing help. He also observed a case of Corona beer sitting under the nurses station on this occasion. DISGRACEFUL!! If I knew how to get the state board involved to investigate this center I would do so! Disgraceful to treat people in this way. If someone can pass on this review to get the state involved I would really appreciate it greatly. If but is happening to my loved one then it is happening with all the patients who don't want to make a complaint.

My mother needed therapy to walk again. She was there for almost two weeks. Everyone was really great! Mara helped us find a place in the facility quickly for my mother. Juan, the physical therapist, helped her to not only gain strength in her legs but also helps her to gain strength in her arms. Samantha , at the front desk, was kind, helpful, and cheerful. Kimberly, LPN, helped get things together for my mom in the morning and was helpful for me and my dad who are visiting. Emma , was also helpful in the evenings. There were so many who were helpful and kind to us. And my mother is better for going there. Thank you all so much! We are truly grateful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I Do Not Recommend this place. My 88 year old mother was in this care center to receive PT/OT after a fall. However after a few days she was rushed to Emergency Room unresponsive and had to be admitted to ICU and put on a ventilator. It was determined that she has a UTI and COVID. I will never allow my mother or any family member to return to this facility.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! My 88 year old grandma was there to recover from a fall. She left unresponsive to the ER to be intubated. She got a UTI for the first time because she was neglected by the staff. She got COVID, which unfortunately happens in places like these, but was NEVER tested even though the staff said they would. She slumped over unconscious and my mom, her contact, was NOT notified. My grandma is currently in the ICU and her health is very fragile. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVES ONES HERE!!!!

Nurses and wound care nurse Leslie, lack knowledge and concerns on the patient's care. The staff were unable to answer questions and concerns nor did they follow up with family members questions or treatment. When we voiced concerns nothing was done or was given the run around. This place made the patient and the family feel unheard, ignored, and uncared for. My relative was hospitalized during her stay at La Canada, prior to hospitalzation, family members (unskilled health care providers) voiced concerns of possible infection to staff, several times within the week. When the family reached out a hospital, to get a second opinion. The hospital was informed by La Canada that La canada had no records of concerns from the family in patients chart. So the hospital has nothing to go off due to lack of care and documentation. Ultimately, the lack of care and lack of seriousness lead to an unnecessary visit to the emergency room and stress on the family and patient. I understand that the health care can fall short for several reasons that may or may not be in the facilities control, but ultimately my family member almost died due to an infection we had been warning la Canada about for a week and our voices fell on deaf ears. I would not recommend this place to those who are able to advocate for themselves.
