I was picking up a prescription at the pharmacy and checked to see if I could get assistance with another issue. I was directed to Urgent Care and seen within a few minutes by a Physician’s Assistant. She was attentive, thorough, and very upbeat. I have always enjoyed excellent care at the Watsonville facility. The wonderful staff make all the difference .

I visited today, and overall, the experience with the doctor and receptionist was great. The front desk staff, especially Brittany, was kind and informed me that the lab personnel could provide more details about my insurance coverage. However, when I spoke with Phlebotomist Elizabeth Vasquez, she dismissed my concerns and told me I was given incorrect information.

Unfortunately, her attitude was unprofessional—she was rude, unhelpful, and even laughed with a coworker while I was trying to get clarity. Patients are not asking for free services; we pay for our care through insurance and deserve respect. A more cooperative and patient-friendly approach would make a big difference. I hope Kaiser Permanente addresses this to ensure a better experience for others in the future.

I have been enrolled with the Kaiser Senior Advantage insurance plan for six years. I have been very pleased with the service at the clinic. The pharmacy is very efficient and they have been very accommodating with filling my prescriptions quickly and the wait lines are usually very short. The doctors and staff are also very good. It has been a positive experience.

Dr. Smith, spine and rehab physician was personable and helped me feel comfortable right away. I feel like I am in very capable hands and that he listened to my concerns as well as responded to my communications quickly. He went over my treatment options and I appreciate that he is conservative regarding where to begin with my treatments!

I was visiting relatives out of town for the holidays. Realized the reason I was feeling so lousy was an asthma flare-up. I don't get the kind that causes an acute restriction of the air waves and a trip to the emergency room. I get a low, increasing suppression of my breathing. Called the Advice Nurse at 2 am. Was into see the doctor at a clinic only 10 miles from where I was staying by 9 am, and out the door with prescriptions in hand for steroids and an anti-biotic by 10 am. (Plus 4 free Covid tests!) Was able to enjoy the rest of my holiday. Kaiser excels at this type of response.

Dr.Abraham Vela is not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in their field but also genuinely compassionate and attentive. They took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, answer all my questions, and discuss my treatment options in detail, making me feel fully informed and confident in the process.

All Santa Cruz Kaiser is below acceptable health care and service. The receptionist was extremely rude to me 3 visits. I believe she hates white people as I watched her with Spanish clients act 100% different. She was a young Spanish girl with long hair and a rude angry manner very juvenile immature behavior. The physicians assistants are better than SC and SV and very professional. However the doctors are very low quality which is usual for SCC Kaiser. The doctors are rushed, dismissive and uninterested in clients health issues. Two doctors actually insulted me. Would I return? With the deteriorating Kaiser quality at each SCC facility this is the least awful. Only 2 doctors are at the Santa Cruz facility and they are incompetent. SV has gone downhill with very poor health care options and closed their urgent care. At least here you can be seen and hope the doctor is not rude or incompetent
