After over 2 years of chronic neck pain and finally consulting with a well regarded physician specializing in shoulder/neck pain, I was fortunate enough to schedule physical therapy at Joint & Spine Therapy in Newtown Square. During my first visit I knew I made the right choice and over 15 sessions, I observed two amazing professionals (David Chiplonia / Gioia Maiale) excel at their jobs. Simply, Chip and Gioia are very well trained, but also good people who made every person receiving therapy feel welcome. I never saw one Patient not happy to be there, which ironically was my previous attitude toward PT.
If you are serious about getting better, Joint and Spine Therapy is the answer.

Five stars for the team at Joint & Spine Physical Therapy. Chip, Gioia, (and Ashley, a very knowledgeable and competent student on rotation) are all true professionals in every sense. A friend recommended this practice to me and I will be doing the same moving forward. This is a privately owned practice, which allows a more intimate setting, where each patient receives appropriate focus, and is made to feel welcome and relaxed. I went with the hopes of avoiding surgery for a torn meniscus and the PT I received really did strengthen the surrounding muscles and improve my pain. I have had experiences at other facilities over the years for other issues, but this was the first time I stuck with therapy for the full term that was recommended by the Dr. (which says a lot)! This is my fourth experience with Joint and Spine PT over the years (3 for me and 1 for my daughter). I am pleased to recommend them wholeheartedly! Marty has an excellent team in Chip, Dana and Brianna. I had the privilege of working with Chip the past two times, and my daughter and I previously worked with Dana. The therapists are very “hands on” with massaging the injured area, which not all therapists do, so this group stands out. I wanted to work out at an aggressive pace and Chip worked with me to do it in a safe way, which I appreciated as I met my improvement goal quickly (considering my injury). The office is friendly and welcoming. The team clearly likes to work together and it shows. I felt very safe in the office during covid.

I’ve seen Chip for a few different injuries and he is the best PT I’ve ever been to. He not only helped me heal from each injury, he understood the limited time I had to work on my home plan and included some additional therapies while I was in the office to help speed up my healing.

I went to Joint & Spine for 6 weeks after I herniated a disc during pregnancy. Chip and the rest of the team were so knowledgeable, helpful and kind every visit. I was nervous to go but they never pushed me to a point of discomfort and always listened carefully to all of my symptoms and updates. I ended up having to leave because the drive was too far for me and was hurting my back, but I gained so much knowledge from the 6 weeks that I spent there. Thank you Joint & Spine staff!!!

Had the pleasure of working with Chip for 2+ months after shoulder surgery to repair a torn bicep tendon. Chip was a very professional and thorough PT that addressed any and all of my questions/concerns and always kept me informed on my progress. I live a very active life (golf, weightlifting, running, basketball) and Chip made sure to adapt my physical therapy according to this while also following any recommended protocols. I HIGHLY recommend joint and spine (both Chip and the rest of the team) and will be passing along that recommendation to anyone I come across looking for physical therapy in the area.
