My mother and I put my dad in this facility after being in the hospital. I wish we didn’t because my dad’s condition has become worse after his stay here and now has been readmitted into the hospital for kidney failure. The physician and nurses failed to complete his blood work regularly and when talking to the physician about our concerns with fluid in his abdomen and swelling, the physician said it was not a concern and blamed my father for being uncooperative and not progressing with physical therapy. The reason he was not progressing was because the medical team failed to recognize he was heading into kidney failure even though we raised concerns and they were ready to kick him out of the facility because he couldn’t complete physical therapy. Horrible physician and wasted valuable time for my father’s Medicare coverage. I would also not recommend this place because it is constantly understaffed and the nurse aides and physical therapists do not communicate with each other about care and they do not have a present nutritionist on staff.

This review is for my wife’s mom. Staff, including reception, nurses, and aids are very caring and competent. All angels 😇.. Kept us informed. Very clean. Treated us like family from the time her mom was brought to Homestead to the time she passed away.

Have been reaching out to them for months and months to pay a large debt for dietary food products & kitchen supplies, etc. No person ever wanted to communicate or take responsibility. They refuse to acknowledge or do anything about it, which is why creditor will be recommended to take legal action.

UPDATE : Still no resolution. Unpaid Debt. Nothing but disregard. And the good reviews are most likely from people told to write them. Just google them and see for yourself. Next we will be releasing the NJ Dept of Health laundry list which public should know. Michael Steinberg and David Dachs have never responded to an email or a phone call.

Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Center is an AMAZING facility!!!! All the doctors, nurses, aids, therapist, and receptionist are very kind, patient, helpful, and knowledgeable!!!! The facility is very clean and well taken care. My dad was there for rehab, and we could rest easy knowing he was in such good hands!!!

The Nursing and Physical Therapy Staffs were excellent and worked very hard to make patients comfortable and to get us well.

The facility is clean and well cared for. Meals were offered in a good variety and were well done.

Where do I start, this was my mom's 4th time rehabbing at the homestead, the first 2 times were great no issues the 3rd aah, now the 4th horrible. She was only showered once a month if that, was left to lay in her own stool for approximately 30 to 40 minutes at any given time after repeatedly ringing the call bell. She couldn't wait to get out of there, staff was rude and cold. The straw that broke the camels back for me to write this review was that she was finally released after they used up all her Medicare allowable time, then 5 days later was readmitted back into the hospital due to being overdosed by their so called Dr. Dr Asokan Rengswamy the dose was supposed to be 10mg he prescribed 100mg !!!! Luckily she is doing better and healing at another highly rated rehab facility that she now has to pay daily for. Thanks for nothing Homestead. Be very weary of this place !!!

The very first night was when all of the cnas.walked out leaving the second and third nurses to take care of 21 patients. Then that Saturday night storm left us with no lights for 6 hrs. But the therapy people were grate. They had me walking, so I'm grateful for them I give them 5 stars. The place gets my 1. There was one nurse on the 3 shift that needs to go back to nursing for her foul mouth.
