I Highly Do Not recommend this facility. My grandfather has stage four cancer in 4 places of his body. I was referred to this facility by a hospital and hopes to keep him closer to home so that we could spend his last days with him. He hasn’t been here for more then 5 days. My grandfather wanted to know if he could get clothes , but wanted to be taken to his apartment so my uncle called , a total of two different times to figure this situation out and the second time he called he was very rudely cursed out by the head nurse of the floor. When I called to get her name to file a complaint, she rudely hung up on me and I was unaware the it was her who answered the phone. I simply called to get a name. When we arrived, we were directed to speak to her where she immediately was very disrespectful and very loud. I have my three year old toddler with me as well mind you, she went back and forth with my uncle refusing to give her name to file the proper complaint. I politely stepped in to be the mediator, and asked her to simply stop yelling because she was scaring my toddler. She then jumped up out of her chair, pointed her finger in my face. And begin yelling that I threaten her and she is calling the cops. I have this incident on video and plan to take legal action. She called the cops. It was defamation of character she told the cops that I threaten her and they removed us from the facility. I have been working with People for over 15 years and I value being a mother my first priority was making sure my child was safe. I had absolutely no reason to cause harm to anyone for any reason and definitely would not make any threats while carrying my three year old child. I’ve never in my life dealt with someone with so little compassion, working in the health field. One nurse before we left apologize to us and said that the incident was very uncalled for and that we were not the first ones who have filed a report on this particular head nurse. That was my son’s first time meeting his great granddad and only got to see him for all of five minutes. Time is very precious moments like these are irreplaceable. I am beyond heartbroken and was told that I cannot come back to the facility because I threatened her it’s extremely sickening that someone can make up a lie like that all to protect her ego when it could’ve been resolved by a simple apology I truly wish that they allowed us to upload videos and that just photos but thank goodness for phones. God bless.

My cousin went to visit her grandfather the other day. And was met by the head nurse whom I believe is the manger in your facility. The head nurse lied on camera and said my cousin and her uncle threatened her. All my cousin and her uncle wanted was to bring him some clothes. The head nurse/Manger did call the police and my cousin and her uncle were told they are not to return back to the facility. We are looking to hire a attorney. Her grandfather is in stage four of cancer. We do not appreciate how she and her uncle were treated and how the situation was dealt with. And that the manger at the time lied on them. We hope that you look into this matter and evaluate what happened.

I 'm a resident here since Nov 2022. The name has been changed as of July 2023. The new name is EAST END HEALTH AND REHAB CENTER. The facility was sold to Saber Corporation. All the people here that take care of us are Wonderful. I like living here.

I wish I could give zero stars.
My mother was here on and off for about 8 years, her last stay she was here for roughly 6 years. She was able to walk when she came to the facility (each time), but they ended up putting her in a wheel chair, not letting her exercise, so she lost the ability quickly. During her last stay, they made it where my family had to be “supervised” while visiting her, because there were allegations that myself and my father were “beating her”, these supposed allegations were never investigated to my knowledge, but they continued to make it seem like that’s what was wrong, when in reality- she was covered in bedsores. She needed a special diabetic diet which she never received, the one and only time she was able to be signed out for the day (her birthday)- they DID NOT send her with any of her medication, and only a tank of oxygen. There were times that we would call to talk to her and the nurse would hang up on us. There were times that they never let us know about my mother having to go to the hospital, especially the last time. I called the nursing home in November of 2020 to speak to my mom- I was told for a week every time that I called that she was sleeping- which I knew was a lie because I called several times a day. Finally, I’m guessing they were tired of me calling and the nurse said “your moms not here, hasn’t been here for a week” and rudely hung up on me. I tried to call back without any luck, so I started calling hospitals, that’s when I found out she was in Shadyside hospital- with COVID. They didn’t even have the decency to tell my mothers family she was sick.
I’ve been trying to get my moms medical records from them for almost 4 years, doing everything that I need to do to obtain them, sending in all the documentation they request, never hear anything back, so I don’t know what their doing there. My mother was one of the sweetest people and I feel so bad that that’s how she was done for the last 8ish years of her life. She died on Christmas Day of 2020. They are absolutely horrible people, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES. if I would have known back then what I know now, my mom would have never stepped foot in that place. There were a few nurses that were absolutely wonderful and treated my mom with the upmost respect and care and for that I am forever thankful, but the rest of them all have a special place in hell for the torment that they caused her and everyone else

My mom was there for 6 months. The care that she got there was very good. The staff was kind and helpful. She made a few friends, and was treated with care and kindness til the end. They even took care of me and my family.. The administration staff worked with us on the financial end because I had no idea what I was doing. Even the reception women were always up beat and fun when we visited.
They made a difficult decision a good one. Highland Park Care Center let me feel that I did make the right decision for my mom. Thank you for everything.

My experience was amazing ! My brother in law who is a 65 year old autistic male was treated like a King ! He got the best care ever , he was treated with respect and excellent medical care post Chemo ! The facility is clean , he really enjoyed the food. He was kept clean , he enjoyed the activities ! He participated in physical & occupational therapy . He was in the center for six weeks , we actually paid privately to keep him an extra week because it was such excellent care. They made him a communication binder that he could say the word and point to the pictures but after a week or so they started to understand him ! I can’t Thank the entire Highland Park Care Center for the care that he received!👍😀

To bad there isn't a zero. My mom will be leaving there. She had no sores on admission and now has them. Been on phone with her many a times that call lights aren't answered has to just about beg for water. This typically called neglect. Was told if she didn't have a BM she didn't need washed. The list goes on and on. I've heard these conversations while on phone with her. A true injustice to the elderly especially since she's alert and oriented.

I so badly wish I could rate this place a zero. My mother in law was done so wrong at this place. Her own family had to be supervised while visiting her because they claimed she was being abused. In November of 2020, my mother in law unfortunately caught covid. The nursing home wouldn't even let her children know her wherebouts, her daughter called every hospital in Pittsburgh just to find out that she was not even in the facility or that she had covid. My mother in law was very sick, she had several health problems and I find it extremely selfish of everyone that was in the facility to not take covid seriously. On Christmas of 2020, she unfortunately passed away due to the affects covid had on her body. After all of that, her children were given a run around about even going to pick up her belongings, when they finally were able to go get her things, a lot of it was missing; especially things her husband had bought for her. I won't sit here and discredit the staff that truly cared for her, they are earth angels, but they were only a few. I forgot to mention that when she went in there after a hospital stay, she died not being able to walk (she couldn't walk for over a year, they quit her physical therapy). Don't put your loved ones in this atrocious location filled with Hans who truly do not give a care in the world about your loved ones. My mother in law lost her life due to someone like that and I wouldn't wish that kind of heart ache on anyone.
