I am sharing almost one year later. My Dad was at Halifax right after Christmas until right after New Years Day 2024. The staff is the most amazing group of people you will ever meet.
Dad had sundowners really bad and the first 2 nights the nursing staff had their hands full with caring for him.
He was there 6 days and 6 days of care from the nurses, volunteers and reverend. They kept Dad clean, turned him every few hours and knew when to remove the blankets and when to add them. They treated my Dad with dignity and treated us with compassion and respect.
No words can encompass the gratitude for the above as we told our Dad our goodbyes.
Thank you to all of the staff.

WARNING! Stay away from Halifax Hth Hospice. Hubby was with them with TERMINAL Lewy Body Dementia for almost 2 years and they were consistently INCOMPETANT and DISCHARGED Hubby Effective that night.... because of a disagreement I had with Social Worker who was ALSO Incompetent and unable to provide Respite for Me (as Caregiver)...EVER. Left us with No Meds, Supplies or Equipment. We Appealed Discharge with Acentra Health and WON ...and they still Refused to provide CARE for my Husband. Suggest you try Advent Health Hospice instead. Caregivers and sick patients don't need to deal with Incompetence and being left in a dangerous situation without Meds and Equipment without having the chance to procure the Meds/Equipment. HORRIBLE CARE!!! PROTECT YOURSELF and YOUR LOVED ONE. DONT CHOOSE HALIFAX HEALTH HOSPICE!!!!

We honored my mom's wish to pass at home. She passed on Feb 29th...Halifax Health Hospice was amazing. We asked for something for mom and we had it by the next day. They reminded us continually they were there 24 hours if we needed them....and they were. Her RN...Carly was so compassionate...my mom loved getting visits from her...she always called and asked if we needed anything before she came. When her time was close they managed her pain incredibly well. My family was touched very deeply by the care she received all the way through. Thank you so much to everyone who was there for my mom...may God bless you as you have blessed us.

While initially it started well it went downhill FAST when hubby started improving. I'm not one to back down with a medical background. Suddenly nursing was cut down from 6 days a week to one visit from nurses. They will NOT return phone calls. If you question meds or anything they get argumentative..
I WILL say Carlos who changes hubby's bedding etc is beyond AWESOME and always goes beyond!! Social worker Samantha is VERY compassionate and fights for her patients. The rest? Well remains to be seen

My 93 year old mother passed away recently while at home under hospice care. I am her oldest daughter and had the opportunity and responsibility of being her caretaker. From the moment she was accepted into hospice care, our lives changed. Medications were decreased, doctor visits were stopped replaced by very competent nurses that communicated with hospice professionals. The total emphasis for Mom was her comfort. For myself as caretaker it was training on keeping Mom safe and comfortable, and encouragement for me to avoid getting overly stressed that could effect my health. Every member of our care team, nurse, social worker, aid chaplain were at our side if needed. The support was extraordinary. They supplied everything a person needs to be comfortable. We had oxygen deliveries, a hospital bed and all the necessities needed. I would recommend this team anyone in need of end life care.

What shall I say? My Mom entered into this very professional and very caring community for the duration of her life. As someone who operates a similar community, I was looking for all the usual red flags. NONE. The community was spot on. It was immaculate, clean, welcoming, warm and the absolute best place for Mom considering the circumstances. The personnel working there were very focused on MOM, cared for her and did all they could do to keep her comfortable and without pain. What was in essence, Mom's last days on this earth, was made peaceful and with love and compassion by this wonderful staff at Halifax Hospice. I hope that you will never have to use them....but if you do, then I highly recommend them and this wonderful community. Thank you Halifax Hospice in Port Orange.

Absolutely Wonderful ! My Father passed away early Monday morning at 12:55am June 20th 2022 . The care he received was caring and beautiful . I was so overwhelmed when Dad came to my home so I could take care of him . I'm no caregiver in that retrospect . But Hospice helped me every step of the way . Dad was so comfortable and happy . Hospice of Halafax of Port Orange Fl will always be close to my heart . It was the hardest thing I have ever experienced . and at the same time , very rewarding . I wouldn't think twice of doing it again with this staff . I called ALOT for advise and things that went wrong with oxygen tank and so forth . They were always there .. .my Wishes and all the best to
