I have been using Dr. Titus for 6 years now and she is pretty great. The receptionist is really nice and tells you just how it is and does not candy coat things. If you have a question expect the right answer and not some "well we will do our best". I hate when you talk to a person and they don't come right out and tell you what is going on. Thank you for being there when I needed someone to talk to. If you want an office that is straight forward with it's patients then call this office if you want to be caudaled and have someone hold your hand find someone else,

I came here after having a script happy psychiatrist put me on many things.
After going to Dr. Benny Titus, I am on the least medications with the most benefits.
My medications have not changed in almost the entire time. I've been going there close to 5 years.
In conjunction with my cognitive behavioral therapy, my knowledge of what I can do for myself has increased tenfold.
Having said that (and as other reviewers have said), they will be direct with you and not sugarcoat things.
To be honest, this has helped me to feel more accountable in situations where I would have avoided conflict.
Dr. Benny Titus listens to me. She asks all the general questions first but doesn't end the session early or in a hurry. Without understanding this fully, I'd probably be more upset when she is running behind. After years and being the reason she is running behind in several of them, I appreciated that it did not affect the level of service I recieved.

I enjoy my visits with Dr Benny. She asks all the regular questions. Then she will ask about me personally. Feel very comfortable sharing awkward things of concern that may be affecting my life. She will often give me suggestions or comment how I can look at things differently. Feel she really listens to me. Then I’ll tell her I feel her Rxs are or are not helping. She may make adjustments or ask me to try it a little longer. Very nice dr with great receptionist in Renee.

If I could give a 0, I would. I called about a new patient appointment and the woman that answered the phone was absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL. She was rude when I asked nicely if they took children patients. Then she proceeded to tell me in a very rude way that they would not take me as a patient due to the medication that I am on. I cannot believe that this woman is dealing with individuals with serious illnesses every day and thinks it is OK to down talk people the way she did to me. Given the way I was treated on the phone, I can only imagine how people are treated in their practice.

Working with Dr. Titus at Guiding Star has been a very positive experience for me, health-wise and on an administrative level. Dr. Titus is a compassionate and intelligent caregiver, and the office is well-organized and efficient. Highly recommended.
