This facility has been patient, kind, understanding and helped my mother transition into an assisted living facility setting. They have helped her make adjustments and have encouraged her to better take care of herself and implement healthy habits. I am thankful for the staff at Granny’s Log Cabin, thank you for your hard work and diligence!

This facility is under new management. The individual named in other reviews (Pat Berry) has been dead for a very long time and obviously no longer operates the home. (Sherry) took over the facility years ago after returning from overseas deployment. While the family cannot account for the behavior or standards of the previous owner (Pat), under new management the family has worked hard to completely overhaul the business and continues to receive positive feedback from current residents and family members - most of which have been with us happily for many years. Two recent negative reviews by Natasha Hobbs and Becky P are reviews from the same disgruntled ex-employee who was caught and fired for theft and likes to renew their review every few months with a new story out of spite for their termination because we refused to lie to DHS in order for them to receive unemployment benefits. I have personally been affiliated with this home going on five years. There is no Pat here and hasn't been for a years prior to my arrival either.

This is a horrible assisted living (ASL)! Both my grandparents were there several years back, in 2017, and they were not even tended to. I would show up there and have to make sure they were taken care of. A lot of times I would take on the responsibility myself because the staff was incompetent. The day time PCA, on several occasions was on her phone rather than visiting with or helping the seniors that lived there. They are used to having residents there that are unable to speak for themselves, lots of Alzheimer residents. My grandparents, were at the time, the only two that did not have dementia or Alzheimer's. They would tell me all kinds of things that would happen there, including when my grandmother's oxygen saturation kept dropping and the older lady, Pat (mother of the owner, Sherry Butters) kept telling the PCA that my grandmother was fine and that she did not need anything, she did not even check on her. I ended up having her assessed at the ER, in which they eventually admitted her for pneumonia. I did not bring her back to that ASL, for it was not safe. My grandmother ended up with multiple pressure wounds on her bum from not getting the attention that she needed with turns. At one point, I went to talk to Pat about my concerns; I sat in a chair by her and I sat in urine! Thank God I had a change of pants in my car! SICK! My grandparents shared a room there, and when my grandfather passed away, which was only a month or so after they moved in, my grandmother was promised a room of her own so she would not have to be in the room he died in. They did not fulfill their promise and she was left in that room. My grandparents also had to spend down their money that they had in their account before being able to qualify for Medicaid Waiver, which was about $12,000. Most of these ASL's do not get a large lump sum of cash all at once; the owner, maybe Sherry Butters, and her mother, the older woman that supervised there, they decided to take a trip to Europe all of a sudden. Messed up!!! I am so thankful I got my grandmother out of that HORRIBLE place! Even the people that showed up from the funeral home to pick up my grandpa's body after he passed, they said that it was notorious for not being a good ASL. The trash was piling up outside, just gross! DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE AT THIS ASL!!!! A good ASL is hard to find unfortunately, but this one is the lowest of them all! If there was an option for zero stars, I would have chosen it! JUST AN OVERALL MESSED UP PLACE!

This place does not even deserve a one star review. If I could, I would give them no stars at all.

Back in 2013-14 after my grandmother suffered a stroke we decided to send here here because at the time her level of care was not something we could provide. It was the biggest mistake we've ever made- staff made no effort to be quiet about medical matters for residents (for example, they practically yelled about what medications everyone was taking), and my grandmother was abused at the facility.

One of the staff members literally THREW her into bed roughly (my grandmother was/still is in a wheelchair and requires transferring) and my grandmother laid awake all night terrified that she would come back and hurt her. My grandmother fell twice (or, as I believe it went, was dropped twice) and was OD'd because of staff members giving her too many of her medications. Somebody hit my grandmother in the head with SOMETHING (we still don't know what) and staff tried claiming it was ringworm. We, of course, had to take her to the ER where a doctor promptly informed us what was on her head was a large contusion with a scab on it and not ringworm. We had to acquire a note stating it was not ringworm or she would not be let back into the facility.

The head honcho of the facility, Pat, also frequently stole residents' medication and took them herself. She also was living in the facility despite not being a disabled or otherwise incapacitated senior.

Myself and my mother each made complains to the ombudsman(s), and I do not know if Pat still works there or if the facility is even open. Do not make the mistake of sending your family members there.

I find it very unfair that random people that have no connections to Granny's Log Cabin can write negative reviews. Both the reviews I just found are from people that have never worked there and have never had a relative live there. I guess its now acceptable for strangers to post what ever lies they want in an effort to slander a business with no consequences or any attempt at verification.
