Brought my grandmother here after working all night and grabbing some sleep before her 2:30pm appointment. She has mobility issues and limited English proficiency (so I translate).

In the interest of time, I explained that this was on the 5th floor (Suite 500 is the whole 5th floor) since we’d been to the Cardiology clinic there and she went up while I found parking. By the time I made it up there, she was waiting in line to check in at the Cardiology Clinic (the Gastro clinic is hidden behind them, almost to where I didn’t even notice them at all the few times we’d been to Cardiology. They also don’t distinguish this in the pre-appointment MyChart directions to find them.). When I told her that she was at the wrong check in desk, she sent me ahead to run over to Gastroenterology, just to find out that they’d already given my Grandma’s slot away (per the front desk employee Lolita’s statement: “she’s already in with another patient”).

We said we could wait as long as they needed (i.e. for the patient whose slot was supposedly freed up in the span of a few minutes), but after multiple rounds of back and forth, still pushed her out for a whole month. They even gave us some BS about a “8 minute” threshold, when the standard at this medical facility is 15 minutes.

An 80 something year old grandmother who had been suffering with this for months now, they refer us back to her primary care for anything in the meantime despite the primary care doc having sent us there after a CT scan as well.

On top of major accessibility (oh yeah, I went there) and communication issues with their staff, the level of apathy they had being able to look at my sick grandmother and basically say “nah, we don’t care” was atrocious.

I’m a former first responder and healthcare provider and I’ve never observed any of my colleagues in past roles ever conduct themselves this way. You can bet I’ll be lighting up all of the phone lines to make sure this BS doesn’t happen to even more people (which if you check the Google reviews, seems like it happens a ton). Even if their “Patient Relations Customer Service” line is yet another voicemail box for your complaints to get lost in.

Turned me around because i was 12 minutes late. As another user mentioned most facilities have a 15 min window, specially if it’s the first visit and their office is hard to locate. I
was on time but it is my first visit and their parking isn’t well defined. I parked on the other end of the medical facility and had to walk 15 min to get to their office. Gave me another appointment 30 days later even after I mentioned I am suffering from a serious issue. I offered to even stay until the end of the day until they can fit me and the receptionist rejected. Very disappointed for the lack of compassion and accommodation.

Kudos to Dr Edula and the nurses, anesthesiologists and staff. They were amazing. I was nervous even though I had had these procedures before. Everyone was kind, caring and considerate. I didnt feel a thing. Thank you.

I would not recommend Valley GI Clinic. They are rude and not understanding of patients needs and care. I would give them zero stars if I could. Besides that the Valley system is strapped for money and have cutting lot of services. I would recommend Virginia Mason over Valley any day.

I don’t know why the scheduling representative feels as comfortable as they do speaking to people with such casual disrespect, but professional standards need to be reexamined.

If I could give this clinic a negative 100 i would! How dare you turn away a sick patient that has been in the hospital several times. We in health care should strive to treat patients. I have an appointment card to check in my brother at one time and arrived 11 minutes after that check in time. Mind you he's barely moving due to being in pain! There are no patients waiting in the waiting room, and he's turned away stating he's late. I thought the grace period for any facility is at a minimal of 15min! Sad and poor excuse for a facility! I think everyone there should be FIRED! YES I SAID FIRED! Compassion and bed side manner is key in this line of work!

Wow. What a difference from my previous experiences! The first time I had to have a colonoscopy it was done kinda like an assembly line and a bit impersonal. It was interesting to watch the monitor, but I was a little uneasy that they didn't actually get me fully under. The second time was a disaster, with nearly no communication and no accommodation for my special medical needs. The head nurse even refused to allow it to proceed because of this.

These guys though, amazing! The office staff was always friendly and returned messages in a timely manner with knowledgeable responses. The nurses during the procedure were all well educated as well as being compassionate and careful. The doctor and anesthesiologist both checked in with me just before the procedure to make sure everything was addressed and that I was fully aware and comfortable with the process. I asked for names at the time, but can't remember them. I guess it doesn't matter as everyone I met displayed competence, caring, and a professional manner. I thank them all for making this a much less anxiety producing process. 🙂
