ADDON TO CASE FILE:
Once again, we were denied home health services by another agency...and we know the whole story, folks! FIVE RIVERS HOME HEALTH in POCAHONTAS is where the problem began and here are the facts:
1. Grant (my dad) had a ureter stone that was scheduled to be surgically removed almost a year ago now but he cannot walk and was too sick to travel at the time some of the appointments were made. Therefore, he kept rescheduling the visits when he was more able to travel with NEA Baptist Urology and DID attend his last visit there once he was well to schedule the surgery. But his doctor said that by that time the ureter stone was gone and had passed thru the bladder. So there was no need for surgery.
2. Prior to this, FIVE RIVERS HOME HEALTH had been 'helping' him with his catheter and changed it out so many times we lost count because they could never get it right. It leaked constantly due to their incompetency and they complained that they had to keep coming back to fix it. They put in a regular-sized catheter, then a large one, then changed back to a third one, all which resulted in exposing him to bacteria. As a result, Dad contracted at least 3 or more urinary tract infections due to their NEGLIGENCE or oversight.
3. Once we realized this was the root of the problem, we noticed that FIVE RIVERS HOME HEALTH (of Pocahontas) kept trying to get Dad to hurry up and do the surgery and trying to blame his issues on that, rather than their botched jobs as nurses. Then they accused me and my family of not having enough help which is not true and dropped us like a hot potato when we needed them most. In short, they wanted Dad (and me) to take the blame for his issues and even sent a DHS lady out to investigate it. LOL!
Of course, we were cleared on any infraction on our part and DHS then knew it was FIVE RIVERS HOME HEALTH that caused the problem and endangered Dad's health, not US.
4. Fast forward to NOW. Mom was prescribed home health services again after coming home from the hospital the other day and the CENTERWELL HOME HEALTH people came out and got us into the program. Then early Sunday morning CHH texted me to state that "we feel your mother has too many needs for us to help," that same old answer we always get. (MUST BE IN THE COMPUTER SOMEWHERE)... Then 24 hours later, who appears on our door but another DHS lady with adult protective services claiming someone called them about neglect again! HMMM. Really interesting to this detective mind ....that within 24 hours of their denying our claim for home health we AGAIN got rejected for being "too needy" when we have a full staff of care aids that we pay over $5000 per month for and that I am here 24/7 for them. Once again, we told the 2nd DHS lady that it was HOME HEALTH who was negligent and endangering their health, NOT US and both DHS ladies agreed!!!
We have regular aids that we hire ourselves (out-of-pocket) and they are proficient and excellent and do everything we need other than the MEDICAL-BASED services (skilled nursing) that home health could have provided. Mom was recently released from the hospital after pneumonia as stated and once again we got the same answer. I believe we are being deliberately sabotaged and falsely accused of negligence. So today, we have decided that if this complaint does not go in our favor (THE TRUTH), we are going to launch a LAWSUIT against FIVE RIVERS HOME HEALTH and all of the other Home Health agencies who have denied us with either Mom or Dad and demand that services be rendered or compensatory damages awarded. Furthermore, any further implication or defamation of my name personally will be met with swift legal actions against the offending parties for compensatory damages. Not only did these home health agencies refuse to help, but their actions caused further illnesses and then they ABUSED the DHS system to attempt to get revenge and to blame their stupidity and incompetence on the patients' family! A statement must be made and it will!
