My son was born there during the pandemic, the hospital communicated with us weeks before the due date every time their policy change and always help us navigate through it. When we arrived the room was so great, the nurses and staffs were amazing and ready to. we felt really safe and comfortable. We have a healthy boy thank to them.

I had surgery done on April 11th the people at the outpatient department and the people at the recovery room were awesome they treated me with respect and they were very caring. Michelle and Annabelle were really sweet. Can't say much about the operating cause I was sleeping lol. Dr Nolfi did a good job with my procedure I'm on the road to recovery. Thank you very one for taking care of me

I was neglected heavily during my stay here yesterday and today. They gave me an MRI, which was super important for me to figure out what's going on with my foot wound. I waited 27 hours and no doctor ever even came in my room to explain the MRI. I finally gave up today and asked to leave AMA. Within 10 min the doctor comes in, which I find very shady. Now that their money is on the line he's right there.
He proceeded to tell me that I moved too much during the MRI and they cannot read it. Why the hell I wasn't ordered another? No idea. Why they didn't tell me I was moving too much DURING the test? No idea.

My mom was put in here for emergency stomach surgery on December 3rd. The surgery was a success. She was doing great for days, every time I'd see her she was better. One day my mom texts me frantically (and I have every text), that she's being life-flighted all of a sudden over a bit of bleeding to Allegheny General. No effort here to work on things. Well, she died in Allegheny. Allegheny did everything they could to stop me from seeing her. And did NOTHING to help her. They also DID NOT find any bleeding after the life-flight. She made a comeback the Sunday after the life-flight on the 15th, and was doing great, but not as good as we started. The life-flight was one of many straws too many, but I have no clue why it was made? Then 2 days later she's dying. I still do not understand the exact reason for the life-flight, but what do you do? These places have you by the neck, and the insurance. I'm just so disgusted at why she was flown, I didn't understand the reason then, but it was already in progress. They said there was NO bleeding at Allegheny on the immediate Friday. What happened here? You guys always discharged her over and over again without finding the issues. The pain we dealt with (WE) at home was not ulcers. You found things too late. I'm going to get the records off of this hospital. I want a reason. I'm not naive. People die, but I never got real reasons to anything why things were being done.

I was brought by ambulance to this hospital. Very low oxygen due to bacterial pneumonia and septicemia. Er Doctor whose name I neglected to write down and my nurse Max were absolutely the most caring 2 people I’ve ever had the pleasure to be take care of.However I was in approx 3 months earlier with a swollen left leg and headache complaints. After my oxygen was addressed and brought up I was admitted the second visit. I know I was very sick. That same afternoon I started asking for at least a C.T of my head. I was told by the 2attending physician’s and multiple nurses the headache was from the pneumonia. I reintegrated I was there a few months earlier and still have the same headache in the exact same place constantly. After that I was told by multiple nurses that the doctors say I making myself upset and needed Zanax. I knew that was wrong and refused. The following Saturday 6 days after admission I had a wonderful nurse which I did have quite a few but they weren’t hearing me. This nurse my daylight on January 25th said I’m going to talk with you the PA who is Paul today. Not 5 min later he was in my room and escort was on their way to take me to CT. Had that test came back on the floor and he came in and said the radiologist was seeing something may be nothing but I had to go for an MRI. That early evening Paul and my nurse were back telling me I have a mass in my lung and lesions on my brain and I was going to Pittsburgh. The social worker who was also wonderful listened to my and worked very hard to get me in to my choice Allegheny General. There another week had 3 Gamma Knife Rad treatments and biopsies. I’m not home with answers no thanks to your “hospitalist” doctors. The first one at least talked to me but not about the head. The one who came in Tuesday morning wasn’t in my room for 45 seconds and walked out when I tried to address my head. It won’t work out well for him if has the nerve to bill my insurance because I will fight that as fraud. Those 2 doctors were going to send me home because my pneumonia was starting to resolve and my second set of blood cultures were no growth in 48 hours. First set started growing almost immediately. Had Paul and my nurse not listened I would still be in the dark and I’m stage 4. I worked many years at this hospital before I retired and was proud of where I worked. I wouldn’t put my worst enemy in your hospital now and am embarrassed by what kind of place it is now. The food is not fit for animals when I got to Allegheny General I felt like I was being fed by a 5 star restaurant your doctors need to use their ears and understand that all patients aren’t idiots some of us are educated and most of us know our bodies. Always listened and HEARD the patients I had the pleasure of taking care of. On one last good note your G.I lab is wonderful I had 2 visits there near Christmas. However I will never willingly go to your “hospital” and I use that term loosely again and if I ever wake up there I won’t be there long. You should be embarrassed by your “quality of care. Oh the grilled cheese sandwich was edible that’s what sustained my nutrition.

I had a heart cath on Friday. I was terrified but from the time I entered the cath lab. I was made to feel as comfortable as possible. The nurse that took care, Dawnica I believe was her name was. Was the most compassionate nurse I've ever had. And as for Doctor Shah and his staff preforming the procedure. They were all unbelievable. They all talked to me the entire procedure. Making sure I was completely comfortable. I now have no anxiety about my next procedure next month. I just hope I have all the same staff.if anyone has any anxiety about having a heart cath. here. It was a great experience...Thank you Westmoreland

Worst hospital , worst staff , worst management. Absolute waste of your time. Do not even waste your insurance's money here in an emergency. Decrepit and has cockroaches in the loading docks. Rude receptionists, rude nurses. What more could you ask for on your sick bed? A lot. A lot more. I wasn't even shocked to see this dump has an average rating of 2.4. Wish I didn't have to leave one star to leave a comment. If Whoever has access to independence westmoreland's google reviews would like to respond and leave me a number so that I can take my complaints higher up, Feel free but I know you won't. Hospitals full of greedy, entitled, LAZY, management. Absolute waste of resources. Take your business to AHN before its too late and all you have left is grief regret and anger with nowhere to go.
