My dad stayed at Eldercrest Rehab facility for the past two weeks. I came daily to stay with him... so I saw a lot of the people working there, the activities, and the other residents. The rehab people are excellent! The nurses and staff were also very friendly and helpful. The activities director was also really really good and truly cares about the people. This is a small place, but, maybe because of that, it retains a family feel.
The other residents seemed mostly happy, and I met several who were there for their second or third time. This is a solid choice for a loved one to stay, or spend a time of rehab.
If I were to say one thing I think they can improve on... a select few of their evening and night aids could be unkind occasionally. But don't let that stop you from all of the good! I highly recommend Eldercrest.
Thank you Eldercrest for helping my dad be happy, recover, and come home!

Think again if you want to place your elderly relative here. The day staff was pleasant and helpful but the night staff is absolutely awful . If someone has to go to the bathroom they make the patient wait for at least two hours or more. Some of staff were downright mean to my Mom. The physical therapy people were pretty good but my mom is not at the point she probably should be now. The place could be cleaner also. They don’t clean it on the weekends and it smells like urine most of the time. There were no instructions when discharged too.I would not recommend this place at all.

Admitting my husband to rehabilitation care was very stressful for me and my husband, but the admissions and administrative folks at Eldercrest did everything within their means to make us feel comfortable and relaxed.
The nurses and aides were very kind, and compassionate and were very respectful to my husband. He needed a lot of help and assistance.
The dietary staff made daily rounds to check that the food was ok and also showed me how to adjust his specific likes and dislikes. They had a set menu but always offered several side options to substitute for the main entree. Their goal was to get him to eat a healthy diet. We were also permitted to bring in outside food for him.
The activity/common/dining room area was always bustling with residents who wanted to participate in games, movies, outside entertainers, or just to sit around and chat.
Residents could eat in the dining room or in their rooms.
Eldercrest has a large PT and OT room that is very well equipped.
Overall, no one wants to be in a rehabilitation/nursing home but if there is a time that you need additional care, check into Eldercrest. It is a small facility where the staff are like a little family

My mother has been in there for months for nerve issues. She has bewn treated like she is in jail. The place is filthy. Prison cleaner than that place. The manager of housekeeping is a complete physco and needs to be put out her misery.

Moved my uncle here due to recommendation but things must have changed since their loved one was here. No one cared at all. Left so many messages for social worker, administrator, director of nursing, that were never returned. They discharged him to another facility without ever ordering PT, OT, hospital bed, wheelchair, proper meds, etc. No direction at all!! Never told us he would need certain personal things at the new place. When I called to inquire why these things were not done- there were nothing but excuses. They never sent his proper meds including an important water pill. So now he is back in the hospital due to excessive swelling and build up of fluid in his legs. I tried pointing out his legs were swelling up - no one cared. Social worker never called back. Finally, on a visit there we found the social worker in her office sitting back in her chair filing her nails. She claimed she never got our numerous messages and voicemails. Unbelievable!!!
Due to so many incompetencies he is back in the hospital.
Don’t send anyone here unless they just want to waste away and die.

Such a bad idea to put my mom here for a rehab of her hip surgery. Care is definitely lacking for whatever reason. Maybe it’s understaffed or not equipped with enough direction, not sure. I brought her several outfits to wear and other clothes but they rarely dressed her! After 16 days when her discharge came, I got no instructions from physical therapy on how to handle her once I got her back home! Got no instructions on if I should start her heart medication back up that she was taken off of at some point in time, nothing! The social worker was the only helpful person but she was gone for 10 days on vacation while my mom was there.

My sister was just admitted today for rehab. Spoke with the social worker Jamie excellent information, we discussed a discharge plan and different options. She was extremely helpful. Took time answered all my questions.
Went to visit greeted by my sisters nurse Jody very friendly reviewed her meds and treatment plan.
Met the nursing assistant Theresa again very helpful.
There were no chairs in the room for visitors. I recently had a total knee replacement and can not stand for extended period. Chairs were found for us. Her room mate wants curtain between the bed open she states she is claustrophobic. I had a number of pvt legal issues to discuss with my sister and it was not appropriate with a room mate listening to our conversation. This I believe should have been addressed by staff. Her tv was also so loud I was getting a head ache plus we had to speak louder so my sister could hear. Again this must be addressed by staff. This lady is not on a holiday she is in rehab!!

I was however pleased with the staff, hoping this room mate situation will be resolved.

Thank you,
Judi Abbott
