This office is amazing! I’ve been several times and am always greeted warmly, on time and with a smile. Dr Rocha is very kind and gentle and his “bedside manner “ is welcoming and reassuring. I had major work done yesterday. It was all explained carefully and in detail. He and his assistant checked on me numerous times throughout the procedure; they were both encouraging and able to soothe my fears ( I have major dental anxiety as I was in a car accident when I was young that has created numerous dental issues for me throughout my life)
I’m currently wearing a temporary bridge that is totally comfortable and looks great.
I will never go anywhere else! This is the place for me!

Also! I was traveling last August to Boston. While on vacation the tooth I originally went in to get treatment for started hurting terribly. I placed a call to Dr Rocha and staff and they immediately responded and called in antibiotics and Ibuprofen to a pharmacy in Cambridge Massachusetts. I couldn’t believe how responsive they were, all they cared about was helping me get out of pain asap. Tell me what other dentist in the world would provide this level of care. They are absolutely the best!!

I see the negative reviews and there has to be more to the story. I cannot imagine anyone having a negative experience here

Elsie did a great job cleaning my teeth and was very friendly and helpful setting up my next appointment. The entire staff is extremely pleasant and makes going to the dentist the opposite of daunting:)

The check in, dental hygienist Elsa were very punctual and nice. The dentist is very informative, but the redo of felt off filler from July was quickly in less than 7 minutes. I am not sure if the works was throughout. Will have see how long the refills would last. Will follow up in few months. Thank you!

I don’t know how in the world this facility got a 4.3 star rating. Here was my experience:
I called 6 months ahead to make an appointment. They told me that 1 month ahead I should go online and fill out the new patient forms. One month before my appointment, I went on the website and spent about 20 minutes filling out the forms. The site would not save my information. I tried again. Still wouldn’t save. I called the office where they told me the site was broken so I should come in early for my appointment and fill out the forms then.

The day before my appointment, I got a reminder call and a request to confirm my appointment. I was gone the entire day so I called them back at around 11 PM and left a voice mail confirming my appointment. When I arrived for my appointment the next day, I found that they had cancelled me. The person sitting at the back of the front office area interrupted the person I was talking to and said, very rudely, that they require confirmation 24 hours ahead. No one had told me this in the 3 communications I had with this office. They said they could see me anyway. The person at the desk asked if I had filled out the forms online. I told her the system was broken and was it up now? No, it was still broken, so why did she ask? I filled out the forms and when I went to the desk to turn them in, I mentioned that no where in the forms I had just signed did it say anything about having to confirm 24 hours in advance. The rude lady argued with me stating that they require 24 hours notice to cancel or change my appointment. Well, since I was not trying to cancel or change my appointment it didn’t seem to apply but she insisted it was the same thing. I then asked if I was going to have a cleaning that day, since this was what I had scheduled. The rude lady said they didn’t know until I had my exam. She said it was possible depending on what kind of cleaning I needed. At this point, I knew this place was going to be a one-off for my dental care.

A gal came to take me to the back. She left me in the X-ray area for about 7 minutes and when she returned, I told her I had just had X-rays at another facility 6 months prior and my insurance wouldn’t pay for a new set so I didn’t want to have them. She went to the front desk and came back and told me that the “office said it was okay for me to have the xrays.” I said, I’m sure they are okay with it but they won’t be covered and I’m not going to pay for them. She said she thought they weren’t going to charge me for them. Considering my experience to this point, I told her I wanted a note to that effect. She told me to come to the front desk. I got up out of the chair and walked to the front desk. I told the rude lady that I was pretty sure a new set of X-rays wouldn’t be covered and that I was going to leave. Then I did something I have NEVER done in my long life, I walked out the front door.

BTW, there were several other people in the waiting room also having problems with the people at the front desk, including 2 nuns.

If you like aggravation and rudeness, you might like this place. Since I don’t, I am going to keep looking for a dentist.

I always have a great experience at El Cajon Family Dental. I had an appointment for fillings. However, the night before, a crown fell out! Ugh. They took time for my fillings and repared my crown as well. Highly recommend them.

I requested for a dentist by name at this practice as I had checked reviews for that specific dentist. Despite repeated request I was seen by someone else. They took x-rays and then gave me a printout of the procedures required and what amount would be covered. No one took the time to go through the items and tell me what sequence the procedures would be, how long it would take to get it all done, or the urgency of the procedure. They left me with the print out and that was it. It is the worst patient care I've ever received and most irresponsible, cavalier dentist.

If you need dental care I recommend you pick any another place rather than visit this dental office.
