I have been a patient at EFD for years, as has my entire family. I’ve always been impressed with Doctor Newman and his clinical staff so it’s utterly baffling to see the recent decent into mediocrity by their front office staff.

The communication from them is non existent. When a problem occurs with insurance I get the equivalent ā€œBeats us, you figure it out.ā€ I’ve needed a crown replaced for the last four months. When they had a problem getting a pre-auth from my insurance, two months went by before I even found out about it. Even then I only discovered the issue because I had to call them to ask what was taking so long, only to be told it’s not their problem, I have to call.

Then, when I couldn’t get an answer from my own insurance, I had to essentially beg them to do their jobs and advocate for their patient. Another month has gone by, no commutation, so when I call to follow up again, I’m told I should’ve received something in the mail. A part of the process they never told me about to begin with. Their only response was an emotionless ā€œI’m sorry sir.ā€

The contrast between the actual medical staff and the people in the front office is as staggering as it is maddening. It’s like there are two different tribes in the same office. Needless to say I’ll be taking my care elsewhere. I advise anyone reading this review to do the same.

They care only about (MONEY ) I had a very bad experience with them. The doctor touched my nerves—(I'm not sure if it was a mistake or a way to charge me more). I was in pain for eight days, and when I returned, he demanded $525 for a root canal, after the insurance, claiming it was rare for this to happen. He hadn’t mentioned anything about any possibility for needing the root canal’s before. I consulted two other dentists who reviewed my X-rays and said the cavities weren’t deep at all. Additionally, he didn’t provide any protection for the nerves while working on my teeth. I strongly advise against going to this clinic; it’s a really bad place.

I’m deeply disappointed and frustrated with our recent experience. My wife went in for a **simple filling**, only to come home with severe pain that wasn't there before. When she returned to the dentist, he informed her that she now needed a **root canal** – something he never mentioned as a possibility beforehand. After consulting with other dental professionals, we learned that **the nerve was likely damaged during the filling**, which could have been avoided with proper care.

What’s more upsetting is that, rather than taking responsibility or offering any assistance, the dentist was dismissive and **insisted on charging us significantly** to fix a problem that he himself caused. This lack of transparency and unwillingness to correct his mistake has left us feeling misled and frustrated. We trusted him with my wife's dental care, and unfortunately, that trust was not respected.

Until today, I would've given Dr. Newman and Easton Family Dental five stars, easily. He's a fine dentist and does good work, but the other reviewers are right regarding the coldness of his office and staff when it comes to insurance issues.

Despite having the same insurance that I had last year - when they provided services THEN ran it and apparently just didn't tell me that they were out-of-network (because the co-pays due to me were not much more than they would have been if he were still in-network, I guess?) - they're not willing to do the same this time.

In fact, the associate who I spoke to (who didn't seem particularly interested in helping me at all, especially the first time that I called) informed me that I'd have to pay in full out-of-pocket, then submit the claim to my insurance myself for reimbursement.

It didn't matter at all when I expressed that as a patient of Dr. Newman's for over a decade, I REALLY didn't want to go elsewhere and was hoping that they'd be able to run the claim the same as they did last time and I'd happily pay the difference. In fact, there was no discussion and it was obvious by the receptionist's tone that there wouldn't be one.

I'd understand if this was a small-time, brand new or wholly unfamiliar insurance plan, or even if I was having major work done. However, this was simply for Routine Dental Services (a.k.a. a cleaning) which is a fairly small bill in the first place.

I admit I'm not a medical or insurance professional, but I know bad customer service when I see it. I don't think I was asking anybody to move mountains, but at least put on the show of "well you've been a longtime patient of ours so let's see if there's anything we can do" before blowing me off for elsewhere...

Last Monday I needed an emergency root canal. In the overall I have very healthy teeth...two cavities in 64 years, so never having had major dental work--I was very apprehensive and in a lot of pain. Dr. Newman took me in that day for the procedure. His office was extremely clean, the entire staff professional from the reception I received through billing. Dr. Neuman's confidence in his ability to correct the issue immediately made me feel better. The root canal was a success and I am waiting for my crown. Thank you Dr. Newman and your entire staff!!

My entire life I have been terrified of dentist appointments. Until today. My first visit at Easton Family Dental. KAYLA- (I really hope I got the right name) was AMAZING!!! Very sweet, friendly, patient, understanding and took her time with me. Every dentist appt in past, I always left with my gums in pain and spitting blood after a cleaning... This was painless, quick and no blood! Makes me wonder what everyone else at my past dentist offices were even doing.

The actual dentist was very blunt. Didn't waste any time. Didn't sugar coat anything. Didn't try to scam me into anything or sell anything.

I hope Kayla stays at this location because every cleaning I have at 6 months, I will be requesting her and her only!
