I recently had radiation treatments, so I need to get my teeth checked more than before. Went in, Sept 30, 2024, had the x-rays done. He came in and checked my teeth and found a cavity in upper molar. It was between a crown and the molar in front of it. He had to remove the crown to get to the cavity. Worked on the tooth and put in a temporary crown. Told me it was going to be sensitive for a while. Ok. A month later it was still sensitive to cold. Went back in and he said people heal differently and that the sensitivity will take again, "A WHILE". 4 months later it is still very sensitive to cold. Went back in today Wednesday March 5th. Took more x-rays. He came in and said he didn't do a filling just a crown replacement. WHAT?! You did a crown replacement because you had to remove the existing crown to get to the cavity!! Then he had the nerve to tell me I needed a root canal and if I wanted to schedule. Adios!

I just had three cavities filled this morning in less than an hour. Dr. Hong is very skilled and precise to take care of you. "Simple cavities need simple fillings." He's been there since 2001. He cleans your teeth to assess. The building is in an unassuming strip mall which doesn't look fancy but inside things are simple and clean. He's my new dentist! The staff is nice and I've gotten appointments really fast.

I had many cavities filled by Dr.Hong about 13 years ago when I was only 17. He did most of my dental work when I was young. After all these years all of my fillings that he did on me are still in great shape! Including a front tooth #8 to be exact where he did a composite/resin filling which i had broken in half. I thought it was going to need a root canal or crown after so long but nope. Still looks as good as when he filled it. I am no longer his patient because I no longer live there. But so thankful for the work he did on me!

I truly do not like to leave bad reviews but I just had to share my experience. If I was given a choice to rate Freedom dental, I would not rate them at all. The dentist was not very warm and friendly at all.

I was new to the area and needed a filling done, but I was told I needed an xray first - understandable. So I went in to get an x ray done and the dental assistant could not get a proper view of the back of my mouth where I had some swelling earlier in the week.

On top of that when the dentist came into the room he looked at the xray and just asked well how can I help you. So I told him that I experienced some swelling earlier and wanted to get a filling done; he checked my mouth and ended up telling me I had to get a root canal and filling.

I asked him on which teeth because he could not even indicate to me where on the x ray. To show me where, he pointed to his cheeks.. like really?

I left there unsure of which teeth it was, until I received the payment plan. (1,275 btw!!)

In addition to that before I left, I asked if I can get a copy of the x ray and he was very RUDE. He asked me, "you can read xrays?" It was in such bad taste! In a very condescending tone. I said no I can't read x rays but my sister in law can. (Besides, I spent money to get it done, why be so rude for no reason?)

He couldn't even give me a prescription for my swelling, I had to call and ask for it - for him to tell me the antibiotics will not help. After being firm he said okay. Then he said he will send it to the pharmacy, so I waited an hour and called the pharmacy, but they said they did not receive anything for me. I then called the dentist office twice and they said it already left from their end and there is nothing they can do about it. After calling the pharmacy again, (3rd time) they were confused because they had not gotten it, so this time the pharmacist called them! Thankfully I got the prescription. I honestly felt like I wasted my time here and the dentist did nothing to try to help but frown while I asked questions. He was not very helpful at all, it was almost as though he could not wait for me to leave. Patients should never leave an establishment feeling the way I did.

I will not recommend this place to anyone. I am sorry. Invest your money elsewhere, where you're treated with respect and care and the dentist seeks your best interest. Had I not been so far from my sister in law I would have saved the time and energy going here.

We were recommended to Dr Hong from a close friend. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to travel all the way to Watsonville from Hollister, but decided to give this dentist a try.

My review is about the first series of visits to the office and the final visit for my daughters orthodontics treatment.

When we arrived at the office, the waiting room was clean and had plenty of magazines to read. The waiting room even had a little toy to keep the younger kids occupied which I guess is good, but the small toddlers sure can make some noise.

Signing in and registering with the office was a piece of cake. Basic forms and disclosures and the staff was very friendly in explaining some of the things that I wasn't too familiar with. We waiting there for only about 5 mins after filling out the form until my name was called. My daughter was called a couple mins later as I saw her in the station next to me.

Dr Hong came and introduced himself to me and asked the basic questions to understand what my previous history was. I take good care of my teeth, but probably should floss more often. I also had braces about 10 year ago so I value having pain free and good looking teeth. Once the interview was over, Dr Hong started to check and clean my teeth. I thought that was great since most dentist offices you go into these days have some sort of hygienist do it. I was finished with my interview, check up and cleaning within 30 mins. The best thing is that the whole thing was painless, quick and my teeth and mouth felt great!

My daughter had the same experience, but she was recommended to get braces which for a teenage girl is not good news. The good news about the recommended ortho treatment was that it would only take one year.

During the year, she went into the office to get her bands replaced and all other things that the Dr needs to do to move those teeth around her mouth. Today was the one year mark and she got her braces off. Her teeth are straight and very beautiful now. During the course of the treatment she did have some issues with the wires digging into her check and lips, but those were solved by quick visits to the office, but over all she was very happy with the end result. The best part of all of this was that Freedom Dentals prices were very reasonable compared to other offices we got estimates from.

As you can tell from the review I am very satisfied with the work that Dr Hong and his staff performed on my family. I will continue to make the long drive from Hollister to Watsonville to have him care for our teeth.

The only thing I wish the office had was Wi-Fi access in the waiting room.

He was very nice when it came to my appointment as well as the other workers. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible so that was nice. I've only been to Freedom Dental a few times, but I'll be back for more work done when needed. I recommend this place to people that need dental work done.

Dr Hong is soft spoken, quiet, gentle and pleasant but most importantly a skilled and honest surgeon. I went to him for a second opinion after my local insurance-covered dental office said I needed $6000 worth of work including 2 teeth pulled. Dr Hong has done the work for $3300 without dental insurance, while saving one of the teeth - a very big deal to me. I have decide to cancel my insurance-covered dental office and move to Dr. Hong's office. You will not find a "cattle mill" here, just fair prices, timely appointments and good service.

I came 15 minutes earlier than my appointment time and they still called someone who walked in later than us first. Why do they give people appointments at a certain time if they are not going to abide by it, but if we were to reschedule our appointments we have to do it 48 hr in advance or else they charge you. That's bull in my opinion.
