My mother is in Diversicare now. They have been an answer to prayer. She is taken care of all around. The nurses, the aides all see to her needs. She is always clean, well fed and handled with compassion. Administrator and Business office is Top Notch.

My Nana (initials HJ) was a resident there until yesterday - she was a hospice patient. Nana was only there a few months but she was treated so well at this facility. I saw it even more in the last 3 days of her life when I stayed there with her. So many of the employees went out of their way to come say their goodbyes and to offer kind words to us. I saw such kind hearts and I know they were genuine. I could tell that everyone we came in contact with was in the right place and found their true callings in life. I’m thankful to know how good of hands she was in. Thank you facility for the prayers, kindness, hugs, tears, songs sung to her. This is a hard time for our family and that was good for our hearts. I know Nana felt the same.

Beware of this place. This is what i went through with them:
The experience was annoying because of their lack of professionalism and the fact that they are "trying" to bill me over mistakes they made, which wasted time and caused the bill in the first place.
Their nurses are borderline "okay", they will call you when there is a fall or a near-death situation but you will hear little else from them. Some of the nurses are what i would call good and some of them seem to be there just for the paycheck with their tone of voice on the phone.
Their switchboard, for the time i tried calling and getting my mother on Medicade, was a NIGHTMARE and the "intentionally" ignored my phone calls. I actually had my sisters call, on two different lines, and (where they ignored me calling seconds before or after) they would answer their calls immediately.
When i pointed this out, to the director, i got a lot of "I'm not sure about that" and excuses about people that no longer worked there (which means nothing if the switchboard isn't answering your calls) and it was a lot of run-around.
And then, as i expected, they billed ME for their screw-ups and a waste month they had where they could have gottem my mom on MEdicade and everything would have been paid for.
They waited until the LAST week to call me and, by then, MEdicare had run out. Not what i would call professional.
UPDATE - My mother has been deceased for almost a month and they're contacting me about a Medicade situation that should have been taken care of MONTHS ago. MONTHS. They're close to being the worst of the worst when it comes to handling business.
Their people flat-out lied to me, their switchboard people ignored my calls, and their billing staff have TRIPLED the bill since my mom died.
UPDATE2 - When my mom died, they said i owed them $14xx and now they claim i owe them over $5000...
Their billing staff are CRIMINALS.

I am happy I chose this care facility for my mother. Everytime I visit her she talks about how much she is cared for and looked after. I was referred to this facility from a friend whose mother is also living here. I am so grateful for your staff!

I only give 1 star because the understaffed staff is nice. My husband is a dialysis patient and had been falling. He was there on the rehab unit for 6 weeks. He had blood in his urine for quite some time and they didn't seem to be bothered by it. He was no longer feeling well, stopped progressing, stopped eating (but their food is awful!), he lost 25 lbs while there. They discharged him to Home Health. The next day he was admitted to the hospital with a raging UTI, which would explain the blood in the urine, and decided to stop dialysis and is now on Hospice. So, they sent him home with a raging UTI that they didn't check for, not to mention a huge pressure ulcer on his heel that they said was a skin tear! They are extremely understaffed. He got MAYBE one shower a week. They're yelling up & down the hall, the employees & facility physician complain all the time, and now I'm finding out they apparently are known throughout the medical community to be subpar to put it mildly. If you care anything about your loved one DO NOT SEND THEM TO DIVERSICARE PELL CITY. I wish I had known sooner, but he was admitted there from the hospital and we had no options due to him being on dialysis.

My Dad passed away on October 27. My greatest regret is I trusted these people with his care. They were aware that I lived 5 hours away and needed their help. I took him out of the facility early and about a week later he passed away at my home surrounded by his family. If you cannot stay with your family member at this facility, Do Not leave them. They will not receive quality care. I have requested all records by registered mail. I have where they signed for it but I have not received any communication from them. Not surprised! My Dad was there for rehabilitation so that he could move to SC and assist with his care. There was no rehab and he died in the loving care of hospice. Thank goodness he died with our care and not alone in that place.

Please, please do not trust these people to take care of your family, The nurses and staff obviously do not care about these residents!! As you walk down the hallway you can clearly smell feces, and urine, the residents look like they all need a good, long shower and the whole place is extremely outdated and so far from liveable! Every single person that works here should be ashamed if they have not brought the living condition concerns up to the state!! Someone needs to bring it to their attention! Disgraceful place for those sweet residents to put up with.
