What an unexpected blessing to find De Un Amor, located in gorgeous Corralitos, CA, for my 88 year old mother. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by apple orchards, redwood trees, gardens, walking paths, and outdoor seating areas to take in the beauty and fresh air. De Un Amor feels more like a home, a community, filled with warmth, yummy and healthy home cooked meals and a variety of weekly activities. The care is excellent, the staff is very professional, compassionate, supportive and patient. The owners as well as the staff have also been a source of support for my family as we have moved into this new chapter with my mother, sharing their knowledge regarding working with the elderly and helping us navigate this path with my mother at times. My mother often shares how much she enjoys living at De Un Amor, she feels the staff are very attentive, she feels safe, respected, and happy. Trust. Compassion. Professional Care. Safety. Peace of Mind. Thank you so much De Un Amor! With much gratitude and appreciation for all you do for my mother and all the residents at De Un Amor.

My family is grateful to De Un Amor for the excellent care they provided our Dad and Mom. Despite my father's challenging condition, Tryg, the owner, was willing to accommodate both of my parents so that they could spend their last years together.

Running a care facility is incredibly challenging, but we found everyone at De Un Amor to be consistently patient, caring, and attentive. The administrators Marcy, Maria Elena and Veronica, and their staff bring tremendous knowledge, skill, compassion, and heart to their work.

The facility is kept sparkling clean and is located in a stunningly beautiful area. Gustavo, the property manager, keeps it looking lush and gorgeous in every season. My parents found the beauty of the grounds to be a source of pleasure and peace. My family felt the same way when we visited.

My father passed right before Covid, but my mother lived through that season. The staff was nothing short of heroic during that arduous time. My mother passed away in June 2021. We will remain forever grateful for the loving care De Un Amor provided for my parents. They were also a source of wisdom and comfort for us as we journeyed with Mom and Dad through those difficult final years.

We are so thankful to find De Un Amor. It was actually recommended to us by a previous care facility in the area that could no longer provide for my mom's needs as she is now 99. We have found the care to be a very warm home like atmoshpere with caring staff. It feels more like a family atmosphere than institutional. I can not say enough about Tryg, the owner, who is so kind and caring about his residents, always wanting them to be happy and feel special. He takes the time to speak with the people and always has kind words for the residents. He recently remodeled the facility which looks more like a large ranch style house in the country with a lovely family room for musicians to entertain and many, outside decks and patios for residents to sit outside. The property is gated in a lovely sunny country area adorned with many trees, including apple and apricot trees and a peaceful stream running by. They even have their own vegetable garden. My mom loves her room with a private deck to grow her flowers and tomato plant. The atmosphere is always very pleasant, the facility and residents very clean. I find they are very willing to accomodate any special needs or requests and most of all my mom seems very content there. I think it's very important in this last stage of life that the residents are surrounded with such beauty, peace and care to live out their days.

In 2002 we placed our aunt at De Un Amor where she remained until her passing in February of 2014. A tremendous burden was lifted from my wife's shoulder's when she entered the facility. In her twelve years there she was treated with respect and dignity. Tryg and his staff went out of their way to provide the the care we were unable to . The atmosphere was the same as being at home with splendid meals, loving care, birthday and holiday celebrations, and daily activities. She was always clean and provided for with whatever she needed. We made several unannounced visits, were warmly received, and never once found anything out of place. We have recommended De Un Amor to several of our friends for their family members needing care, and have never been told of any problems they had. If you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place for your loved one we rate De Un Amor as a "FIVE STAR" care facility and would not hesitate to spend the balance of our lives there if the need arose .

My mother has been enjoying living at De Un Amor for the past year. I moved her there after a long wait list finally opened up. She was in two other places prior that were not comparable to the loving, attentive, constant supervision that she receives now. I feel relieved knowing that she is so well taken care of in such a beautiful environment. The fresh food that is prepared for each meal (some of it is grown in the garden) smells and is delicious. The residents truly enjoy the company and help of the longterm staff. They are sweet, gentle and patient with each resident. The home is super clean and is decorated for every holiday. It is a pleasure to spend time visiting there. Always sunny and warm on the spacious patios and surrounding decks. If there is a need for your family member to have that special care there isn't another place I would consider recommending then De Un Amor.

My father stayed at this place briefly. He had moderate dementia, which the staff were unable to manage. The facility is quite attractive. and homelike But, when staff were unable to manage my father's behavior, the owner Tyg, pressured my father's wife to remove him from the facility at once He nagged her relentlessly, failing to give the required notice, which I have learned is 30 days. We were unable to find a new place for dad to live in that time frame and she took him home. This had disastrous consequences which resulted in dad's hospitalization and significant deterioration of his health and abilities.

Bait and switch operation. The owner, Tryg Thorensen, assured us that he could provide experienced care for my grandmother's medical issues. The staff is not well trained to take care of residents that require oxygen. They prepare poor quality food that includes half a white bread sandwich and Cheetos. Her calls at night for help were consistently ignored. We repeatedly found my grandmother soaked in urine, cold, and not blanketed. She later developed an infection that had been untreated for a week. The owner threatened to evict my 92-year old wheelchair-bound grandmother because he claimed that she was too "demanding." We were required to pay for private 24-hour care in addition to the fees to De Un Amor because they simply would not provide the care that she needed. We finally were able to move my grandmother to a new facility where she is receiving better care.
