My sister has been at Berks Heim since the end of February. She needs more care than I can provide to her at this stage of her life. The staff, nurses, housekeeping, social services and activity coordinators have been great. They do their best to keep my sister involved in activities and to socialize with other residents, which is not an easy task, because my sister is not very outgoing.Whenever we ask for anything, care, help, or for questions they are very helpful. I’m always getting calls with updates on her care from the nursing staff. They all work hard and have the patience of angels. I’m pleased with how she is being cared for by the entire staff.

After being Independent for 93 years, Mom got to the point where she needed around the clock care. We were fortunate enough to get her a bed at Berks Heim. Her experience there has been wonderful. The staff is excellent and communicates extremely well with me as I live in Florida and only get to Pa 4 or 5 times a year. They inform me of any changes in medication or treatment and went out of their way to find her a comparable roommate. She enjoys playing Bingo and going to church as just a few activities.

Most of all, the facility is incredibly clean, so between that and the friendly, helpful staff, it is a pleasure, not a chore, to visit her.

Loved one at Berks Heim since mid-March 2024 in both Rehab and Skilled Nursing settings. Quality of care in both settings is top notch. The staff cares and is attentive to the various needs of each patient. Staff keeps me informed and is quick to answer questions. Room and building are clean and safe. Food looks pretty good for a larger institution. Plenty of activities by compassionate staff offer residents opportunities to socialize and "stay sharp." I'm very satisfied with the care at Berks Heim and I recommend it to anyone seeking fine care in a safe, clean, and caring environment.

My mother has been a resident of Berks Heim for about 14 months and I so appreciate the care that she has received from day one. The staff at all levels have been phenomenal - the Director of Admissions, the fiscal staff, the social workers, the front line nursing staff, CNAs and Activities staff are all invested in ensuring that mom is cared for medically, socially and emotionally. Whenever I visit I'm greeted kindly by all staff and I am thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and warmth of the facility. A big shout out to Rebecca Chambers, Matt Tracey and all the staff on Essick Commons!

As with most of us, I dreaded having to place mom in a nursing home...but I am thrilled with the care she is getting at Berks Heim in the Dementia wing. I got "old mom" back thanks to the incredibly caring staff, doctors, dietitians, activity directors and even the beauty shop staff. Mom's overall mood, temperament and health have improved thanks to a steady diet, structure and care provided by Berks Heim. Over the years she has been in several other local rehab "homes" and quite frankly I was scared to have her live at one of those. Luckily, I was able to get her into Berks Heim and I am comforted that she is receiving the best care 24 hours a day.

My mother unexpectedly landed in Berks Heim rehabilitation after a period of hospitalization. I couldn’t be more pleased with the decision to bring her to Berks Heim. From intake through her rehabilitation the entire staff was friendly, supportive, and professional. I was initially concerned because of the reviews on Google but those concerns quickly faded away as my mother’s care progressed. If presented with the same circumstances I would choose Berks Heim again without hesitation.

Better update your fee for heim. My mother is at the facility. I'm oaying over 12 thousand a month . Food isn't fit for the pigs, 1 shower a week. My one positive is no turn over in staff.My mother's nurses are great.
