I have used Dr. Lawler since 2016. He has done surgery once on left shoulder and two times on right shoulder Front office are extremely nice but the back clinic area needs a lesson in finding out about a patient before assuming that someone is not home bound. Just because I came to office does not mean I'm not home bound. My husband was in parking lot with my oxygen in truck. Since Christmas I have had double pneumonia 6 times and hospitalized 5 times. I'm on oxygen at night and during the day most of time. They are checking me for cancer. There are many days that I can't get out of the bed. I almost died 2 times. So,before you assume you know what a patient is going through maybe you should hear what their going through.. Just because they look normal on the outside they are fighting on the inside. You can get out of house for medical treatment and religious purposes. I pray none of y'all have to go through what I've been through.

I just had a total hip replacement by Dr Lawler. Best decision I have ever made. I was in terrible pain before and couldn't walk, drive or even sit without pain. Now two weeks after surgery no pain I walking almost normally. I have some more physical therapy to go through but so far the after care has been great.

For my money Doctor Ray and his staff are some of the best in the business. I won't go anywhere else. He has done bot hip and knee replacements for me and a hip for my wife and was great with all three. His physical therapy group is awesome as well. I am a retired high school coach of 28 years and multiple sports so have been around the orthopaedic business a great deal. I would recommend him over anyone else in our area.

Dr. Lawler has a great bedside manner. He listens to you & explains everything. He's done surgery & injections on me & injections on my husband. I couldn't ask for a better doctor! My husband really likes him & that's saying something. He hates doctors. The staff are nice too.

IN RESPONSE TO MARGARET WILSON - IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO MY REVIEW AS BEING BOGUS, SORRY BUT YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. THERE ISN'T ONE WORD THAT I POSTED THAT ISN'T TRUE! I CAN, HOWEVER, SPOT BS WHEN I SEE IT!!

I certainly hope people can differentiate between legitimate and bogus reviews. I have been a patient of CORE Orthopedics and Sports Medicine since day one - eleven years! You will not find a better run, more efficient doctors office with more friendly employees. In the past eleven years I have never, EVER experienced or seen any of the employees be rude to ANYONE. I take some of the comments that have been made very personally, because the employees at this office are like family to me. I know their character, I know how they treat people, and I know the standard they are held to!

I cannot comment personally about Dr Lawler because I have never used his. However, I have several friends/family that have used him and every one of them have been completely happy with the level of care they received from him.

I have been Dr Ray's patient for the past eleven years. I have to be the first to admit that I am not the easiest patient to deal with, and I have had way more than my share of difficult issues to have to deal with over the years. Never once has there been a situation that couldn't be dealt with. Throughout my many numerous (too many to even be able to count) surgeries that I have had to go through, Dr Ray has always done a fabulous job. He deeply cares about his patients and their wellbeing. He strives for excellence in the operating room for the best possible outcome for his patients. He has a wonderful bedside manner and treats his patients as if they are family. His is the only practice in the area where you can schedule an appointment within a few days instead of having to wait a few weeks.

There may be some bogus reviews on here but maybe this last lady's review is also bogus. There is absolutely no reason anyone should have to wait in a orthopedics office for more than two hours with an appointment. I say they're in pain for 2.5 hrs after I scheduled my appointment 3 weeks before. I was in a lot of pain at that time but they claimed they couldn't get me in earlier. Customer service in this office is non existent other than collecting Co-pays.
Dr. Lawler is not as competent as done people think. He did an ankle surgery on me that was going to take me 2 weeks to be back to normal according to what he said. 3 months later I'm still in pain and it's still swollen. I truly believe that some prime are good at customer service and some need to work on a factory somewhere where talking to customers is not an requirement.

Dr. Ray performed an emergency surgery on my right hand and wrist in 2006 and did a excellent job. I drove from Birmingham to Anniston every Dr's visit to see him and my results were way better than initially expected by him and myself. Due to the injury, it took some time to rehab but I got back to what I loved doing. All these years later, my hand and wrist are doing great. Thank you Dr. Ray. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ray!!!

Front desk personnel is TERRIBLE!! Dr. Lawler may not be the best orthopedic doctor but his front desk employees are really rude and get loud with customers. My mother was in their office and I was with her she had an appointment and a referral from her doctor. She sustained an injury 2 days ago that's when she made the appointment. After paying the co pay they told her she couldn't be seen because of her referral status. My parents are retired military, disabled veterans that have Tricare as their insurance. I truly believe that doctor's on the area, not just here, do not want to take on a Tricare patient because they may take up a slot that someone with better insurance can. It's a shame how the employees at this doctor's office act towards military veterans. After trying to get a referral from Tricare finally someone from the back figured out that they can get one from Tricare s web page and she was seen. I truly wish that we had more options as far as doctor's that take Tricare in this area.
