The staff are great except for doctor long. Brandon Aston is currently out of state but was a great dentist. My experience with doc long are poor. Half hour late, plus no bedside manner? He didn't give me enough anesthetic the first round and his tools kept slipping off and poking me in the gums making me bleed. He also messed with my sister's braces during a check up and those things are expensive. He broke one of the wires.
I want to be clear that his staff are all very competent and charming. His wife (I think) gave me a 5 dollar coffee coupon for being patient.

Update: My family has moved dentists.
I had to get the fillings redone, but not I can at least chew on the left side of my mouth again.

Having been terrified of dentists since I was a child, due to some very bad experiences, I have stayed clear of them. But my teeth have gotten to the point where I have no choice. Long story short I ended up at Dr Astin's. What an awesome visit! His Staff makes you feel so welcome and comfortable. And he is totally the VERY BEST!! He is so easy going and gentle. He takes time to explain things and answer questions. Not in a big rush. I must admit I actually enjoyed my visit.

Staff is always courteous and kind, and we always have a good laugh! They were quick to see I could use some more anesthetic and promptly gave it, and fixed my filling right up! The longs are good people
They are also always great with my kiddos!!!

This was a wonderful experience! I have lived in Homer for two years and was dreading the idea of having to start somewhere new for my dental services. I am so happy I went to Dr. Abbott's office. The staff was incredibly nice and easy to talk to and the clinic was clean and organized. Normally when you walk into a medical or dental office they play elevator music which is supposed to relax the patients, but is usually depressing music. Dr. Abbott's office had wonderful country music in the background which automatically made me feel at home and comfortable. I would gladly recommend this office for any dental needs!

We love going to see "Captain Toothbrush" as my kids call Dr. Astin. Every time I go I am met with smiles and a welcoming front desk. The assistants are so kind and gentle, as well as Dr. Astin. I have had a lot of work done on my teeth and I've never had a dentist be as gentle as this guy! He's great with kids and is encouraging and never shaming on the fact that I don't get my kids to brush often enough!

This is a top-notch dental practice. There is nothing lacking. My appointment was on-time and the staff and Dr. Astin were friendly and professional. Dr. Astin diagnosed my condition and took the time to discuss all of my treatment options with me in detail. The procedure that I needed required another appointment and one was scheduled at a convenient time for me with little delay between appointments. Everything, of course was immaculate and sterile and very efficiently accomplished. This is a very impressive practice!

I love going to the dentist!! You rarely hear that. But Dr. Astin and his staff are the BEST!! I always have such a positive experience at my visits. They are all like friends. I was nervous when I moved to Alaska finding a dentist like the one I had in Utah. But Dr. Astin filled the bill and is amazing!! Thanks to everyone!!

No longer Dr. Abbott it is Dr Brandon Astin in that location.3 kids and 1 hubby all went in for checkups, fillings and cleanings. 4 great experiences. Kids had never seen a dentist and I am so glad that there first experience was with Dr. ASTIN and his staff. Professional, compassionate and caring. Taking time to explain each step to each child. Cannot say enough good about Dr. Astin and his staff each one of them are awesome.
